I wonder if any municipality will hire her? Once you have done porn you are so fucked... Everyone tells you, "you shouldn't do porn, you need to quit!" But if you do, no one will ever hire you again.

Which is a pity because if you've had a succesful porn career you've probably got more business acumen (and probably better business instincts) than most.

(Well, as usual, I took a twenty word comment and changed it into a long, boring dialogue. Sorry. :walt:)

Quite an article. And, personally, I think she hit the nail on the head. "...a life away from a life so vain where people think that social media numbers and notoriety matter to this world." (Please, I am saying nothing about my dear friend Vicky Vette, nor any of the lovely VNA ladies nor any of the other wonderful ladies and others I have met since meeting Vicky. I owe Vicky a lot. These folks have chosen their professions and they are quite successful at it.) But, if you try a profession and find that it isn't for you, then why not step up and move on? Sounds like she has - or is going to.

Social Media. I have never understood why so many people feel the urge to send (via facebook) pictures of their family picnic (OK, you had a picnic. It happens, get over it.) I love my friends and care if they're happy and healthy and well off, and I appreciate the news. But do I need to see pictures of your kids first toothless grin, or him with his ball team, (I played little league, too. Millions have.) Your child, bless him, is not unique. I would be worried if he wasn't out there playing little league. So you went to Disneyland for your vacation. I'm glad you can afford such extravagance. But I've been there, I've ridden all the rides. I've seen it. So you took a trip to Yellowstone. So did we when we were kids. I'm glad you have friends to go visit, friends who come to see you, friends who come to your kids ball game. But I don't need (or really want to see) pictures of your kid every time he eats his breakfast or picks up the trash.

I know I sound sarcastic. I don't mean to, but I guess there's a lot I don't understand about today's world. Maybe that's because there have been just so many changes in society since I was a young brat. I hopefully am not putting down anyone who posts a lot of pictures. Yes, we took pictures. I have 4 or 5 shoeboxes full of them. Every person should do what he feels is right. Digital photography and modern day electronics have given us this ability to share. So maybe I'm just an old curmudgeon (most likely, lol.). Maybe I'm just motivated by Bretts desire to move on.

It's great to keep in touch with friends. And it's really great to make contact with old friends you never thought you'd see again. I take pictures. But, I take pictures of where I've been (scenery shots.) And I take pictures of my friends. But I just don't feel the need to post them on the internet. Have you ever seen Steins, NM? No, you haven't. Have you ever been to Bowie, Az? No, you haven't. Bowie, before freeways, used to be a thriving little community. But now it's mostly abandoned. It's kind of sad to see all these old stores, these old motels, these abandoned gas stations and restaurants that used to be full, busy, and someone's livelihood. But freeways killed all that. Not a bad thing, it's called progress. But it IS sad. So I take pictures of that. To me, these types of pictures are what is interesting. Stories of a life long past. You see westerns and you think "That was a good movie." But the one thing you miss, is that, what you are seeing is life as it actually was in the 1800's, 1700's, 1600's, whenever - long ago times. I"m going to post about Ft. Bowie in my travelogue.

Anyway, I like and applaud what she had to say and I hope she is successful. It sounds like she wants to be a nurse. And we need plenty more of those angels.

I totally understand how she feels, I feel like that so often myself, I get sick of it, I find it all very Vain and selfish. But unfortunately it's part of our business and if we don't do it we will fall behind.

That's it. If you're in the business, you pretty much have to deal with all that. But, yes a whole bunch of it IS garbage. I guess it takes a special person to put up with it for years - "deal with it," maybe. Thick skin? Possibly so.

Mainstream probably makes more money from porn now than porn does. The quickest easiest way to make headlines and get clicks is talk about porn.

I would never have thought of that. That's why I'll never be a good business person - I can't see angles like that.
