WHO IS PAYING THE MOST (OR LEAST) IN THE WORLD FOR GAS????
AAA's national average is 2.50 today, 2.62 in Florida. That's held steady for the past few months, but is up 0.25 from a year ago.
As an aside, in Norway it'd cost 114.70 USD right now to fill up a 15 gal tank.

Well, dang near screwed myself again waiting for cheaper prices. A couple days ago I was getting low on gas, so decided to check out Gas Buddy to see how prices were around here. Well, prices were anywhere from $2.15 to $2.25. Not too bad. Then I spotted a couple of 7-11's near me selling for $2.09. "WOW! I gotta jump on that." I couldn't go then, so decided to go yesterday morning.
Got to the first station and like to crashed when I saw the sign. $2.49. WHAT? So I pulled over and called up Gas Buddy on my phone. Sure enough, it said $2.09. Gee, what the hell is this? So I decided to drive to the next one, a Circle K. Yep! $2.49. What the hell is going on here? So I drove to another in the area. $2.49. I ended up driving to 5 or 6. ALL were at $2.49. I thought about driving to a few non-7-11 type stores, but decided to drive on up to to Murphy's at Wal-Mart. There are 3 stations right close together there that were advertising at $2.12.
Yep, they were at $2.12. So I quick pulled into Murphy's and filled up with my Gas Buddy card (saves me another 5¢/gal.) Looking at the Gas Price map this morning, I see that numerous others are being shown at $2.49. I have a hard time understanding a 40¢/gallon price jump, and especially by every station in the region. They are damn near ALL being reported at $2.49, no matter what their earlier price was. And the gas companies will tell you, "there's no collusion between us."
Now, I can understand a station raising their prices when the delivery truck shows up and fills their tank. The station will raise it's price based on what they have to pay the delivery guy for the fresh load. But, I can guarantee you that every station in a 20 mile radius did NOT get a fresh delivery last night. Or even the night before. Those underground tanks contain enough gas to supply the station for a week or more, probably more. But, remember, There's no collusion.
So, remember, folks, if you see a cheap price, jump on it now. Because tomorrow it will take your paycheck. If I had bought the $2.49 gas, at 14.5 gallons, that would have cost me $5.80 more than the day before at $2.09.
And download and install Gas Buddy, on your computer AND your phone. And then get the Gas Buddy travel card. You link it to your bank account. When you fill up with it, it takes the price you pay, deducts the 5¢/gal discount, and then submits that to your bank. So you don't wait for a refund or rebate or anything. By the time the charge gets to your bank (quickly) the discount price has been applied and that's what they deduct from your account, the discounted price. So, in my case, I saved a total of $6.15. $0.78 for the 5¢/gal, plus $5.37 by using Gas Buddy to find the cheaper station. Works for me.

Yep! Now every friggin' statin in the entire Northeast El Paso area 3 has gone to $2.49. I don't care where they're located, company station or independent, all but 3 have gone to $2.49. 1 at $2.46, 1 at $2.47 and a Sam's Club at $2.37. But, there's no collusion.

Yup! It's up around that area here, too. Had a hard time finding cheap gas going to Tucson. I think I paid $2.55 my last fill up. Prices hre now $2.75 - $2.79. I saw news that they were raising prices in the Middle East.

Gas here is 1.49.9/l to fill up my truck cost me $115
What really bugs me on my truck, is the fuel light. From home to High Level is 95kms, it said I could go 125kms. The low fuel light is flashing saying I could go 45kms and I know I'll make it, then when you need to know how far you can go, the information goes blank! Well guess who ran out of gas, luckily for me I carry a 5 gallon gas can in the back of my truck, of course it had as much gas in it as my truck.

Maverick, it was a few weeks ago, but I can remember filling up for 25¢/gal. A few weeks? OK, about 2,808 weeks, actually. That was 1964. (Walt, you idiot! )
But, did you notice that when the prices went up, they went up in about three steps? From $2.15 to $2.99 in about a week. (Notice they kept it at $2.99 for a couple months? Wanted to be able to say, "Hey, gas is under $3.00/gal.")
Now when it's starting down, it drops about 2¢/gal at a time. but, they can say, "See? Prices are going down." Bunch of thieving a$$holes, I say.
Oh, and, Julie? Got a gas can, huh? Here's a suggestion. "Put some gas in it!!!

Yeah, those things don't register right down to zero. (You can go 1.7 miles on the gas you have remaining - Julie! LOL)

Zoom in to your area until the map pops out and you can see the prices. Then you can move around to whatever area you want. I use this site all the time when I'm traveling to find cheap gas.
It may not work for anyone living way up in BumFuck, Canada, Julie!

Yes, which I have done. I review my route before I leave, Then double-check it on my phone when I get near fill up time - you know, sometime before my gas lady says, "You can go 300 yards on the gas you've got left," Julie. (Ok, dear, I'll leave it alone, lol.)
I'll probably fly to Tampa next Oct (or whenever) to Nightmoves if enough VNA ladies are going (and if it even happens.) But I will probably drive to Las Vegs next January for AEE, again, if enough VNAers are going. So, I'll get to try out my street smarts. Come help me out, Julie. I'll even let you drive the ole Waltmobile.

Well, gas is slowly s-l-o-w-l-y coming down, 3 or 4 cents at a time every 4 or 5 days. So, what have I got to bitch about now? Remember a few months ago, when I bitched that every station in town went up 50¢/75¢ per gallon over night? Well, as you can now see, they grab every opportunity to steal all the money they can from you. Raise the price near $1.00/gal over night. But, at 3¢ a shot, take 3 months to bring it back down.
Gas prices are determined, first, by what OPEC is selling it for, and, second, from what I read, by "NY 'speculators,' who apparently mostly determine where your gas prices go, even above price and demand.
Yes, OPEC raises prices overnight, but they generally come down at nearly the same rate. Not $0.02/$0/03 cents every two or three days.
Damn thieves.
