Davest wrote: April 26th, 2021, 9:56 pm Funny you should mention YouTube!

I was introduced to Dave Gorman a handful of years ago by friends who recommended his special Dave Gorman's Googlewhack Adventure from 2004. I found it very entertaining (and free on Amazon Prime) but his sense of humor may not appeal to everyone (and it no longer appears to be on Amazon). Yesterday, I stumbled across a show he did called Dave Gorman's Modern Life is Goodish. All 36 episodes from the show's five season run are available in full on YouTube. I have linked the first one I saw below, which includes strip clubs (in a safe for TV manner). So far, I have only seen all eight episodes in Season Five, but I'll be watching all the others soon.

Edited to add: Dave Gorman's Googlewhack Adventure appears to be available in full (all 96 minutes) on YouTube. Thank you Internet. :yeahbaby:
Anyone who uses the word "goodish" has to be all right!

Very nice! Now, I noticed 3 different button-pushers - a guy on a bike, a longhaired woman, and a young man. Do you think TNT used real bystanders to get real reactions, or was the whole thing staged?

not sure, but I know I wouldn't push a big red button associated with TNT!

Nice one! I didn't make that association. Although, you don't find out about the TNT until after you push the button.

Neither Amazon nor Netflix, but I watched History of Late Night Shows on CNN last night, and it reminded me of this episode by Johnny Carson:

That was impressive. Both Jack Webb and Johnny Carson. Thanks!

Just finished Jupiters Legacy on Netflix. A more adult oriented take on superheroes questioning weather the golden age code of superheroes never killing holds up in todays world. I dont think it was as good as Amazon's The Boys but I enjoyed it.

I hear Hulu is doing a documentary on the life and music of Frank Zappa. That should be good.

Watched volume 2 of Love Death & Robots on Netflix. I thought it was good but not as good as volume 1. It is also much shorter. 8 episodes instead of 18 so an easy binge.

I have just discovered Britbox as a streaming service - £6-99 per month.
It was a venture started by BBC & ITV and has loads of their "Greatest Hits".
The TV Series available (check in USA as not all are available there) are amazing - I'm already hooked on Classic Dr Who - the first ever series with William Hartnell. Another amusing series I had heard of but now have had chance to watch is a Gerry Anderson (Thunderbirds etc) called "The Secret Service" - quite a hoot really.
You name the old series and this channel seems to have it - everything from The Avengers (mrs Peel & Steed) to Sherlock.
If you do explore it it has "House of Cards" - the original British version which is excellent!
Great value for monthly cost.

We have Britbox in Canada - but the offerings are much slimmer than in the US. Fleabag was recommended to me. I'm going to have set up a vpn router.

That's interesting - that some shows are not available in Canada/USA. I can't really work that out - are those series on other streaming services?
If you can get them I would recommend "House of Cards" (UK original) and also "Tinker, Tailor Soldier Spy" - the original with Alec Guiness as Smiley

Canadian streaming services carry much less content than their US counterparts.

But House of Cards is definitely available - I saw it advertised on Britbox last night. Thanks for the heads up.
