Omg I forgot how good that show was! I use to watch it when it first came out! Don't remember how many years ago that was lol… I just almost fell off my chair laughing at some of this

If not for The Golden Girls we may not have had all the Quentin Tarantino movies. Quentin Tarantino had a small role as an Elvis impersonator on an episode of the Golden Girls and he has said the residuals money he got from that kept him going during pre production of Reservoir Dogs.
Keep smiling. It makes people wonder what you are up to :-)

No kidding how fascinating! I went to an acting class in LA one time - just a one time trial, and had the same teacher that Quentin did. This teacher said he was a terrible actor and no one thought he would amount to much. Funny huh?

My brother comes and visits for the weekend, I don't get on the forum and so I miss all the Golden Girls chatter! Haha! Yes I am just closing in on the end of season one now... honestly loved the show as a small child but didn't realise how smutty it actually is! Haha! Sophia has to be my favourite character for sure...
Had to take a break from it for a couple of nights though because with my brother staying he wanted to watch Clarkson's Farm on Amazon Prime (as he doesn't have that) and I enjoyed rewatching a few of those with him too.

I liked a TV series back in 2006-2008 called Jericho. It concerned the actions of folks in small Kansas towns after nuclear attacks on 23 large American cities. "Jericho is an American post-apocalyptic action drama television series, which centers on the residents of the fictional city of Jericho, Kansas, in the aftermath of a nuclear attack on 23 major cities in the contiguous United States."
I thought it was quite well done and was entirely believable. It concerned the actions of those who decided to 'take control' of everyone, and others who still valued freedom and fought to stave off the 'controllers' while trying to find out exactly what has happened and who, if anyone, was in control. It ended in 2008 rather abruptly. No proper closure, so it basically stopped in mid story. Pretty disappointing to all it's fans.
I stumbled onto some comments on FB, so decided to look. It apparently is on Netflix, which I don't have. So I looked on Amazon and found the entire series on DVD for $17. Once I"m done, I'll pass it on to anyone who wants it. But, if you have Netflix, I might suggest you look into it. You might like it. I really thought it was well cast and well played.

I can resist everything except temptation.
yeah, throw that on the heap of shows that finished poorly. I think one of the biggest issues with these TV shows is that they never go in with a proper exit strategy. I would like to see studios commit to 3-5 season arcs and call it quits, longer than that and quality tends to fall off dramatically.
Sopranos did it the best and even that was a little long in the tooth.
Just binged The Movies That Made Us on Netflix (eight episodes total, I was only interested in watching six of them). Each episode documents the making of a classic movie like Back To The Future or Jurassic Park or Forrest Gump. Very entertaining if you like film history/documentaries.

I enjoyed that show myself. There is another one called The Toys That Made Us which was very good as well.Davest wrote: ↑July 31st, 2021, 1:27 am Just binged The Movies That Made Us on Netflix (eight episodes total, I was only interested in watching six of them). Talked about that one a while back

I'm actually re-watching Clarkson's Farm on Amazon currently... still can't find a streaming service or tv channel in the UK that are showing Leverage: Redemption or the iCarly reboot... even a VPN isn't doing me much good there!
I actually didn't realise there were new episodes of that on there, having watched the Die Hard and Ghostbusters ones from a little while back. I watched the Back To The Future one yesterday!Davest wrote: ↑July 31st, 2021, 1:27 am Just binged The Movies That Made Us on Netflix (eight episodes total, I was only interested in watching six of them). I have also watched the new Masters of the Universe animated show on there, from Kevin Smith, as I loved He-Man as a kid... I watched all available episodes so far, mostly because I was intrigued as to where they were going with the story (I won't post spoilers here) because they made certain choices that I can't say I agree with - but then again it kept me watching!

I watched this superb show on Peacock called the Capture...
British crime drama... so good that I didn't mind there were no titties (that I remember)

Final season of Lucifer hits Netflix the end of this month and after NBC cancelled Manifest Netflix has picked it up for a 4th and final season to finish the story

I can highly recommend Only Murders In the Building (on Disney+ here in the UK and I believe Hulu in America) 10 episodes around 30 minutes each and a lovely little kooky, darkly comical and slightly farcical murder mystery from Steve Martin.
I am also, finally, watching Leverage Redemption as IMDB TV has been added to Amazon Prime Video here in the UK... 4 episodes in since Sunday and it's a wonderful continuation (not really a reboot) of the original series.
