The last day off of my Christmas break (back to the grindstone tomorrow) and Star Wars : The Book of Boba Fett starts today on Disney+. I am just getting some stuff tidied around the house and then I'm going to make a big mug of tea, maybe a couple of mince pies that are left, and sit and watch that!

Enjoyed the first episode of Star Wars the Book of Boba Fett.

Started watching Wheel of Time on Amazon. I never read the book series so dont know how faithful it is to that but I am enjoying the TV show.
I finished season 2 of The Witcher on Netflix and really enjoyed that. I recommend both if you like fantasy/ sword and sorcery shows.

Bing watched Queens Gambit on Boxing Day - great series, highly recommended.

Also watched Don't Look Up. Did not like it in the least. Even with Meryl Streep, Leonardo di Caprio, Jennifer Lawrence and Kate Winslet. Not sure if it was intended to be comedy or parody, but I think it ended up a cipher. Just my opinion, of course. Netflix lists it as "Highly Acclaimed".

Send some over, I'll help you get through them. The ones I got from the local supermarket were mediocre at best. I had a few with custard, that definitely helped.

Watched first season of a Norwegian show on HBO Max called Beforeigners. Around the world there are explosions of green light in bodies of water and people appear in them pulled from the past. The three periods people are appearing from are the stone age, the Norse viking age and the 19th century. No one can figure out why it is happening or how to send them back. A detective is partnered up with a beforeigner woman from the viking age who has become the first time refugee to become a police officer to solve the murder of another refugee. The second season has just released. Enjoyed the first one a lot.
Concept reminded me of the movie and tv series Alien Nation which a really liked, except instead of Alien refugees who crashed on earth it is time refugees.

In honor of the passing of Bob Saget on Sunday, I watched the two stand up specials that were available on Amazon Prime. That's What I'm Talking About (2013) is closer to his older routines while Zero to 60 (2017) is a little bit kinder and gentler. Both are hilarious and offensive and inappropriate. If you only know Bob Saget from AFV and Full House be warned; he is one of the most blue comedians out there.

The ONLY reason I am watching Yellowstone... which has a lot of fucking country music...

I have finally started watching season 2 of The Witcher on Netflix this week - which so far is somewhat easier to follow than season 1 (I guess it helped I had read the books and played the games to keep up with who was who, where and when) but I still have the entire season of Yellowjackets and The Terror (which is a few years old now but not been available long in the UK) saved on my SkyTV box all unwatched!

Last night/this morning I watched all 8 episodes of Reacher on Amazon Prime. A great adaptation of the first Jack Reacher novel - and that must be the first time in a long long time I have "binge watched" a whole (albeit short) season of something in a weekend. Great stuff... and Willa Fitzgerald was so good as Roscoe (way better than the character was served in the book in fact) that it's a real shame she won't return in any possible season 2 (as is the nature of the Reacher books)... so I'm really hoping she gets her own spin off show because she was awesome.

I gotta agree with you Stevie. I thought Reacher was great also. I watched it all in 2 nights as well. Some of you might be familiar with the character from the Tom Cruise movies. I enjoyed those but the series is much better. Part of the books is that at 6'5" Reacher doesnt exactly blend in and is pretty intimidating. Tom Cruise doesnt exactly give off that vibe lol.

I do recommend it.

I enjoyed both the Cruise movies as well... he got the stoicism and demeanour of Reacher across well, but the actor they have for the show physical fits the bill perfectly. And - well, yes... more please!

Started watching In from the Cold on Netflix. Its about about an American single mother who is an ex Russian spy and is blackmailed by a CIA agent into helping him on a case. Its a mix of a spy thriller with a dose of science fiction and family drama. I'm about half way thru and have been enjoying it.
