Liz, I hope you don't mind, I thought I'd put these two together to make comparisons a little easier.

Nope! Once again, it's his head and he can do whatever the dickens he wants to do with or to it. But I also have the right to think that folks who go to these extremes have some sort of serious mental issue. My opinion.

Maybe you've seen this before. I may have posted it. But I think it's hilarious. If you like Smokey and the Bandit, you'll probably like it. But listen to Sheriff Justice's explanation of what he'll do once he catches The Bandit. It applies here, I think, lol.

Wow. That's vindictive!

However, I don't think it is a tattoo. I think it is a haircut. You grow the hair just long enough that it is sticking straight out from the head, then shave patterns in it. By cutting the hairs down to different shorter lengths, including complete shaving to the skin, you can get roughly different tones. So, the lenses look to be made of the longest hair, the earpieces are shaved a little shorter, and the surrounding area is shaved almost to the skin in order to provide contrast. Much better than a tattoo.

Erik, my post was not in the least "vindictive."

Vindictive:
Disposed to seek revenge; revengeful.
Marked by or resulting from a desire to hurt; spiteful.
Disposed to revenge; prompted or characterized by revenge; revengeful.

It expresses my opinion of such events. I have a right to like or dislike anything I see, hear or experience. That does not make anything "vindictive." I even said in my post that I believe that everyone has the right to do anything to him/her self they want. No matter how it's done I think it is ridiculous. You also have the right to like or dislike my opinions. I will say that, if that is only a haircut, I still think it looks silly. But at least he hasn't ruined his head.

I have seen way too many pictures of people who feel that tattooing their head/face is cool, or whatever they are thinking. Again, I don't care. What they do is none of my business. It's their life. But again, I have the right to like or dislike anything, as well. And I did not call the man names or disrespect him personally in any way.

Hopefully we can move on.

Sorry Walt! I was referring to Sheriff Justice! Throwing a guy in jail until he dies, then throwing the corpse in a coffin and then throwing it back behind bars forever is pretty vindictive. I apologize for not making it more clear that I was referring to the clip, not your post.

Thanks, Erik. I thought you were talking about my comments about the guy in your original post. I guess I was a little too self-centered, thinking you were commenting about me. I do get aggressive sometimes, but also get defensive pretty easily. Explanation accepted. And, yes, the comment from the sheriff (Jackie Gleason,) on the face of it, is 'vindictive.'

I understand your thinking about it, but it was just a comedy bit. Have you ever watched "Smokey and the Bandit?" It's a pretty good movie.

I think I might have watched it once. I didn't remember that it was Jackie Gleason who played the sheriff. I remember liking Sally Field, probably more from The Flying Nun. I understood that it was comedy because Gleason was in character as Buford Justice, still looking for (and apparently not finding) his old nemesis. I don't remember the movie much, but I get the impression that it is kind of a Captain Ahab/Moby Dick sort of relationship.

Sounds like you used to have fun watching movies! It also seems everybody remembers this movie better than I do.

It was a great movie, Erik. I loved the scene where Jerry Reed (the trucker) got beat up in a bar/restaurant by a bunch of bikers. So he crawled outside, got into his truck and proceeded to drive right over all their motorcycles.

And, just because it's so much dang fun - I mean, The boys are thirsty in Atlanta and there's beer in Texarkana. When I'm out on the road and this comes up on my CD player, I crank the dang thing up and sing it loud. ;lol.

Back in the 70's it was illegal to sell Coors beer east of the Mississippi. As a kid we were living in Florida and whenever we would visit relatives in Louisiana my dad would always bring back a case or 2 of Coors.

That second one was a fun summary! I may have to go watch that movie again. I found a few scenes that people posted on YouTube.

I watched the 3rd one a couple weeks ago. Still fun without Reynolds.

Another good Jerry Reed movie from that time is "Hot Stuff"

And this classic song

"She Got the Gold Mine..." is another favorite. Having Been There Done That, it's another song I love to listen to.

"Well, I don't have to worry about totin' a billfold any more...." lol
