Glad to hear that, Lance.
You know? We are so hard focused this year on the Corona virus that I hear nothing about the regular flu. Yes, I did get my flu shot back in September, I believe. Let us not forget that people get sick from their annual flu shot, too. And, yes, people die - not from the shot but from complications that arise. I don't know if they'll suggest another round of Covid shots next year, but flu shots are annual and I always get one. Not when I was younger, but I think I started around 65 or so.
But this Covid thing was so pervasive that it scared the hell out of us (a good thing.) But there were still so many who thought it was no big deal, while people died around the world.
I believe the CDC. When they tell me something is going on, I'm not going to let some bar-stool doctor tell what I should or shouldn't do. I wore the mask (still do) and I got my shot. And I'm fine.

Wow! Craycray! How delayed was it?
I'm getting the impression that people who had Covid get severe reactions from the vaccines and those who haven't had it are just fine. That's what I'm seeing from everyone I know.

I understand the social separation due to covid drastically reduced the flu count this winter.WalterB wrote: ↑May 12th, 2021, 8:50 am Glad to hear that, Lance.

I don't know yet if the covid flu shots will become a recurring event for a number of years. I remember growing up in Africa and India that I used to get a smallpox shot every 3 years and cholera shots every 6 months. And I had to carry a health card when travelling to show my shots were up to date.
She had her reaction 2 weeks after the second covid shot. Its called a grade 4 reaction (grade 4 meaning delayed). She had the pfizer vaccine, and the first symptoms were a stabbing sensation in her chest, and the injection site started to swell up.stickyvicky wrote: ↑May 12th, 2021, 10:06 am Wow! Craycray! It is a known reaction to the vaccines, just doesn't make the news very much.
From what I read wearing masks and social distancing drastically reduced the transmission of the flu this year. It was a much milder flu season than it would have been if not for mask mandates for covid
Keep smiling. It makes people wonder what you are up to :-)

Latest update: When you go into a business that requires masks, you may still need one even if you have been vaccinated. It is the choice of the business owner. But, as long as places allow no masks, you should be all right. I plan on starting to carry my card with me.

I had my second shot on Friday and have had no negative reactions at all (other than negative reactions from co-workers who were pissed that they felt awful after their shots and I was fine lol).

After my first shot I was just fatigued for a few days but other than that no real side effects. I am hoping it will be similar for my second shot in July because I actually have my first public event I'll be going to in well over a year the weekend after!
I look much more attractive with half my face covered, so I may just wear it forever. I might even have a shot at getting laid that way.

If this doesn't get people vaccinated.

Relatable, but different for me, I have a piercing that's covered by the mask and it's by far my most exciting feature (it also distracts from the rest ) , so I think my chances may be better without a mask lol.
Having too much sex can cause memory loss. I read that on page 69 in a medical journal on the 4th of May in 2008.

So funny I have one brother which got the vaccine along with his whole family, and another brother who is an antivaxer... funny how we are all sooo different.

My brother has now had his first vaccine jab as of Thursday. He got for Pfizer vaccine while I had AstraZeneca - but basically we are halfway there now to hopefully getting back to some sort of normality. Before the pandemic we were planning a trip to Disneyland in California, and after everything that's happened this last year (not just the pandemic but we had a pretty major negative shift here too personally) we are both just "halfway to being able to high five Mickey Mouse". lol Having been vaccinated is definitely going to make travel between countries less of an issue I think.

This country is just ridiculous...... We have more vaccine than we have people! Its free and We can't give it away… The different state Governments are now having Lotteries to convince people to go get a vaccine. I really don't feel that is where our tax dollars should be spent! Point California Kansas Colorado lots of them giving away millions and millions of dollars just to convince people to go get a vaccine.
Meanwhile my friends in Canada cannot get a vaccine therefore cannot travel or have a vacation or see me Because they just don't have any vaccine!
Like I said this country is ridiculous!

I went to Walmart today, fully vaxxed but still masked, I'd say maybe 50% of the people were wearing masks inside.
I go back to my old job tomorrow, not particularly excited about it but we'll see how that goes. Even after a year in seclusion, I'd be quite content not having to deal with the general public ever again.

I went to the WM here in Sierra Vista this morning. As in El Paso, the (small) signs said that if you were fully Vaccinated, you needn't wear a mask. Again, trusting people to be honest about it.
I don't believe that for a second, but I did see numerous folks wearing masks, I'd guess 50%. Most were elderly, which surprised me. The elderly were supposed to be the first vaccinated.
