Gas went back up to $1.47 at Kroger

Leave it to the oil companies to ruin a GREAT thing... overnight here prices went up 20 cents in Florida...
Still cheap at $1.85 but boy it was nice to pay around $1.60 a gallon...

My car has been sitting for a few weeks so I went for a spirited drive around town today to give it a chance to stretch its legs. 276,000 miles on a 2003 Volvo S60. Gotta register and inspect in June. I think I'm about to dump my $1200 stimulus into replacing brakes, exhaust and struts, so I'm glad gas is cheap. $1.88/gallon for regular.

Yeah, looks like the party's over. I paid around $1.60/gal a couple times couple months ago. But it's back up in the $1.90 range. Still cheaper than Germany.

Gas inching up to $1.99 in Florida after the wonder of paying $1.65....
I got a gallon or two before the inevitable return of $2 this coming week...

When I was in Spain in the mid-'70's, most of the cars were very small stick shifts. Sticks because of better gas mileage. I don't remember what the price was, but even then, it was expensive compared to the U.S.

Actually I prefer a stick shift. Maybe because I was brought up on them. But haven't owned one in years.

Automatic cars became a thing here in the last few years, when I learned to drive about 15 years ago, there were none and now, half of new cars sold are automatic (as opposed to 95 percent in the US). I drive a small Korean car with stick shift (automatic was much more expensive), but I like it, I don't know why, I guess I'm old school

Old school can be really good. It's usually 'tried and true,' and in many cases,is actually better than whatever came along to replace it, lol.

saw someone one time with an old model t, thought it was neat. This thrift store had one of those cars that I call gangster cars, I would like to had that, I think someone got it when the store closed, sure hope so and it went to someone who could keep it up, looked really nice, and maintained for it to be a this thrift shop that had been a old furniture store.
