I'm proud of them! I have no idea what Opie and Anthony said, but isn't free speech the issue here? Especially on XM radio?

Yes .... isn't it good to hear from guys from Long Island ... where I'm from.... These guys are always getting themselves in trouble...Everyone knows why they got fired the first time from WNEW FM ... sort of like "A Lavatory Occupied" scene in St. Patricks's Cathedral, where a man and woman had sex in one of the pews...from a open-air suggestion by these two.. as parts of the couple's moaning and gasping was aired on the radio.

.... So what did ex-WBAB jocks, Greg "Opie" Hughes and Anthony Cumia, do this time, over the last two weeks:

1. After they returned to the station's airwaves Monday, May 14th, after issuing their own apology for a segment on their satellite radio program where they laughed as a homeless man fantasized about raping Condoleezza Rice and Laura Bush.

Three days later this occured which brought about their suspensions:

2. On Tuesday, May 15th, the pair broadcast a call to a Chinese restaurant; the caller, in an exaggerated Chinese accent, placed an order for "shrimp flied lice," claimed he was a student of Kung Fu, and compared menu items to Chinese employees' body parts.

This brought about the Asian-American community to be up in arms and ask for their suspensions. This caused XM Radio to suspend them for 30 days.

XM Radio is trying to merge with Sirius Satellite Radio, and the merger talks ceased because of these comments by these two. Talks are under way again.

So they fired them just to make the merger talks go smoother?

On the one hand, I just can't tolerate the type of race-baiting and shock-jock radio that Opie and Anthony excel in....but, this is satellite radio, and outside the bounds of the FCC, so what's the point in suspending them??? So that Congress could approve the merger talks??

Of course, if some in Congress had their way, satellite radio would be as regulated and as censored as over-the-air radio is now, anyway.

Speaking of outrageous comments, how about old Rosie's remarks about our American terrorist soldiers? At what point does free speech cross the line into treason?

Remember a few weeks ago when she ranted about how we were 'mistreating' that poor, poor terrorist leader? And, now she's fighting with that other (woman.) I have no use for that (ahem) individual. I figure we should give her a zip gun and drop her into Baghdad with a sign on her back reading "Fuck Iraq." (But, then again, I really have no opinion on the subject. )

Rosie O'Donnell is a sad angry woman who only finds some degree of relief when she is causing grief to others.... just my opinion but then again, why are the ratings so fucking high? People love controversy and now she will get her own show...... :( :( :(

I used to watch Rosie when she started out as a VH1 DJ but I can't stand her anymore. She's become a self-righteous far-left wing liberal bitch who thinks her opinions actually matter. She quit The View today, good riddance. Elizabeth may not be the brightest crayon in the box, but she didn't deserve the verbal beatings Rosie inflicted on her. Not that I ever watch that show, lol...

I liked Rosie when she was in the closet and less controversial ... LMAO  .... however she was good in three things only... (1) when she first started out doing standup at Caroline's Comedy Hour, in Manhattan, NYC - leading to a successful standup comedy career ... (2) On her first daytime talk show The Rosie O'Donnell Show when Tom Cruise was a frequent guest of hers ... (3) In A League of Their Own where she played the third baseman to Madonna's centerfielder, with Geena Davis as the catcher and Tom Hanks as the manager

... US Army soldiers as terrorists? C'mon as that's so very hard to believe.... Sure some of them did commit those attrocities at the prison and sure, those loose cannons - those soldiers off patrol who raped the Iraqi girl and shot her family to death ... Those soldiers were punished years ago!!! .... but not the ones on patrol now ...I'll agree with what Tony said that she baited, and manipulated and insulted poor Elizabeth Hasselbach into an argument and brought the panel into disarray... where was Barbara Walters? So today was her last day on The View ? ... Hurray!! ... and good riddance!!

... now, she's just a big fat windbag!! So tired and very boring!! ... She should just crawl up under a rock... and go away!!!

I used to tune in occasionally, but I quit specifically because of Ms O'Donnell, and I have no intention of going back. In fact, I'm not really interested in Barbara Walters anymore.

I find Rosie a huge insult, I have 2 brothers and 2 sister in laws in the service and I find her offensive, insensitive and contemptuous. Even if you disagree with the war and the politics of war, our soldiers are courageous selfless men who risk all for our benefit, for very little thanks. What she said was just wrong.

It's not so much what Rosie said, it's what she implied. She implied that the US is responsible for all the Iraqi deaths, glossing over the the home-grown and neighboring terrorist operations that we can't seem to quell. I agree with you, she's an obnoxious, horrible bitch. It's one thing to be opposed to the war, but it's treasonous to accuse our troops of being as bad as the terrorists that are repsonsible for the civil war in Iraq. Granted, we have bad apples in the services but then how can you blame a soldier in that hellish place for being quick on the trigger?

Maybe we went in under false pretenses but remember that Saddam was egging us on for 10 years. He wanted a US invasion, he pushed us and ignored all the UN warnings. He was itching for a war and Bush gave hiim one. Had we not gone in, we'd still be patrolling and striking targets in Iraq until this day. Are we better off for the war? No, of course not but given the situation at the time, should we have just sat on our asses and done nothing like we had for the past 10 years? And Iraq would have ended up in Qusay's hands after his father croaked so how would the Iraqi people have been better off? Saddam had a full line of murderous successors waiting in the wings.

We better learn to live with the fact that Americans are disliked in many places around the world. It boils down to the haves and have-nots. The have-nots have always risen up and rebelled in an attempt to improve their economic status. The Arabs are oppressed but that isn't our fault. It's not our fault that they have criminal dictator leaderships that steal the vast wealth of their countries. No country with oil should have people living in economic misery. The difference between happy Arabs and angry terrorists is poverty, pure and simple. Instead of blaming the West for all their problems and lashing out against us, maybe they should rise up against their dictatorial leaders instead of crashing planes into our buildings. How they've taken a respected religion and bastarized it into allowing the murder of their perceived enemies is beyond me.

Does anyone remember the USA show "La Femme Nikita" from the 90's? I recall thinking how out there the premise of the show was, an elite team of government-sponsored killer agents who took out terrorist cells all over the world. Somehow, I got hooked on that show and little did I realize that 10 years later, every premise of that show would become reality. Who could have predicted we would be fighting terror cells in our own cities? It's amazing how a TV show predicted the future we now live in...

About Qusay... as second in command to his father, he was responsible for executing, torturing anyone opposed to his father's dictatorial edicts. He had hundreds of Iraqis hung or executed via firing squad at that Olympic soccer stadium built in Baghdad between 1985 and 1997. Possibly thousands of people were killed... So he was a criminal too.
