I'm sure I could do the same. But I also think I've seen that The Farmers Dog may be more expensive.
But Bailey loves it. I thought what I was feeding her before was good. I had to go through 3 or 4 foods before I found one she even showed much interest in. I finally settled on Pedigree "moist and meaty" and she liked it pretty good. But when I got TFD and put it down, she attacked it, lol. She quite loves it now, so I'll stick with it. Around meal time, she starts paying attention to me. You know, sitting there looking at me, usually right at my feet. Then, if I say something like "Dinner?" or "Kitchen" she goes nuts, starts jumping around. When I go in to fix it, she sits respectfully waiting for me to finish. But when I turn around with that bowl, she's all hyper all over again, lol.
And thanks for the reminder. I need to get Bailey on heartworm meds. For some reason, the vet hasn't mentioned it.
I'd have to agree, with my limited knowledge, that fresh is much better than canned or dry. According to everything I've read, canned and dry foods have lots of fillers. I know you've heard all that, "chicken leftovers, cow parts, Activuportican for tooth health, beaks, feet," and all the other garbage they put in there. Early on I started thinking, "Well, she IS a dog. She is MUCH better prepared to eat things that I would throw up at."
But, fresh food is just that - meat, vegetables, good, fresh, human-grade food cooked in human-grade facilities. All the nutrients needed. Not added. Naturally occurring.
I can resist everything except temptation.
Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection we can catch excellence.
Looks like trouble!
