So Vicky (and any of you other Nodskis) are you having any Lutifisk & Lefse for the holidays?? I know for you Vicky you might not be intested in either as they're more an American thing than for others. I just saw a show where they were trying to find some Lutifisk to try. And here's a good saying: Nothing like lutefisk in the oven to show the lovin… I've had it and yuck!!  :shok: :shok:

Why anyone would put that in their mouth I don't know! They should use that on "Fear Factor"!

As for Lefse, that's just good eating... with butter, sugar and cinnamon.... mmmmmmm Steinar, do you know how to make them, or do you just buy them?

What is this? A northern European thing? -

Lutifisk sounds like a main course, fish? which everyone dislikes.

Lefse sounds like a dessert, which everyone likes.

Please explain??

We, Italian-Americans, eat all type of fish and seafood at Christmas.

Yes John Lutifisk is a fish main course. Everytime I see it on a plate I think: ITS ALIVE!!! ITS ALIVE!!! :shok: LOL Here you can read more about it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lutefisk

As for lefse, there`s so many different types of it...you can read more about it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lefse

Thank you Steinar for explaining here.

So lutefisk is like baccala, we eat that alot...made from codfish, right Tony!! :D

...except that its jellified and softened with lye..That's not appealing at all. Yuk!!! :icon_sad:

Lefse sounds pretty good similiar to a pancake. That sounds tasty.

I guess both are an acquired taste....

My moms Swedish and they serve lutifist with a mustard sauce, my Grandma puts it on my plate every year, I never see her do it. I sit to eat and I can smell it, I put it all in my mouth and swallow then drink lots of wine! :drinker:

That would be alot more fun with that in my mouth no butter, sugar or cinnamon needed. That might be good though :sexbed:

On Christmas Day my mom served me 3 different types of lefse...yummy...and I over ate again...lol...so now I have to take a lot of walks in the park.... :funny_21:
