They are each one year programs but I'm going to do them simultaneously and see how quickly I can get it all over with...
I'm going to use everything I learn here on the site! I'm so excited! I start March 1.

Well, at least you won't be busy or anything teehee. Congratulations Vicky. I've always regretted not doing more in school. Even at my last job. I would go over to the education office, talk to the people, get all the brochures, and then go home and do nothing about it. I could have done so much more. Just a lazy bastard. Rather get high than do something constructive.

Yeah that's how I've learned everything so far, lol... I figured there's gotta be an easier way right? I couldn't believe it! Did a google search on all the schools in my area, and found exactly what I wanted! Some of them were 2 years full time, so avoided those, but think these two certificate programs are exactly what the doctor ordered. I thought I could maybe "test out" of some of the introductory courses, like "How to run a successful website" but that would entail me telling them about vickyathome and I'm going to try to "lay low" if you know what I mean... lol...

Hey hey, you're finally getting formal training for what you've been doing all along. It's just like a real job, you do it for a year and then they actually give you the title, lol.

Good for you! Life is continuous education and the techie nerdy stuff changes so fast it's hard to keep up. It'll be fun taking classes with some prior knowledge of the subject. You sit there and finally understand what the hell you've been doing all these years when it made no sense, lol. I've had amazing revelations, even in short 3-day courses I've taken. I'm a big fan of taking classes a few times a year and I'm kind of liking UCLA and its fine weather... Not to mention my favorite strip club...

Good yob maan.... So are these classes at a local school or online so you can travel while you take them. That's the biggest problem with classes that take more than a few months if you have to "go to class". Like Walt I'm usually too lazy to take the class, I'd rather read about it and figure it out myself...

No Bossman I'm actually going to classes; I've tried taking online courses, tried various videotapes and DVD's, but at home I get sooooo distracted, like someone will come along and want to have sex with me! lol... there is always something to do, and I always leave reading the book or watching the tape to the end of the day when I can't keep my eyes open any longer, and it ends up being a waste. So I decided this time, I'm going to school, giving it priority (next to the site of course), I learn so much quicker in a classroom environment. My only complaint is that it's 2 hours away, so we'll probably stay in ATL a lot! Good thing the hotels take dogs!

So how long are the classes going to last, as in how many months?? And how many days a week, I can see you'd want to be close by so you don't have a ton of driving..

I'm going to school on avg 3 days per week, some days 4, I haven't signed up for all the courses I want to take yet, they are sooooo expensive, (winning the booble contest for the year wouldn't hurt about now, lol). The certificate programs are designed to be one year each maximum, but the programs are so flexible you can take them at your own pace, so I plan on zooming along as fast as possible.

Geez DUPA, even I knew she was gonna be in a classroom environment and you know how dense I am. You been living under a rock? Or spending too much time at work and the strip clubs like me? Oh wait, what strip clubs, haven't been there in months with the day and evening shifts I've been working this quarter...

I think the classroom environment is great. I always end up talking to the instructor on the side and getting help with technical problems. At UCLA, I and another guy took him out to lunch both days and picked his brain, then we hired him as a consultant for a couple of days to solve problems we were having at both our companies. I can't wait to go back to UCLA, they've got a bunch of great short courses coming up in the spring and I need to get away from work.
