Is there a registration and a 3rd set of logins

Nope, just go to the link Vicky posted and type any name in the login window. That's the chat ID you'll have in the chatroom, it's not really a login ID, just an alias for chat. We'll be able to do private IM's too as soon as we figure out how it works.

BlabChat is an IM service, much like yahoo IM, AIM, or Skype. Ours is private though, exclusively for vickyathome members. The great thing is no more dependence on Camz for simple text chatting on the site. However, we're still dependent on them for video chats as doing the video is harder. Next step is integrating BlabChat directly with this message board. :-)

Not true, lol.... I was in the chatroom but was distracted, Rokkerr just made me the best omelette ever! Chicken, spinach and swiss cheese in it! Damn, it's like breakfast with lunch inside! I'm still in there, I plan on being in the chat room whenever I'm on the board, so if anyone has any questions they can just fire away....

pls... be courteous and don't log in as me or rokkerr... lol.... I'm sure no one here would do that anyway....

Not bad at all, Vicky....though it still would be much better with video; otherwise, it's not a true IM but a glorified text chat.

But, it certainly beats nothing.

We are working on it Anthony (actually Tony D is, lol)
It's just the start.. we are hoping it can be a true im service where it is completely tied into the board and you can just click on a person's name and start chatting with him/or. The jabber turned out to be a security (hacking) nightmare. I love it, cause I can even get into it from my school workstation. The classroom computers do not have icq or yahoo or skype, so I couldn't even talk to Rokkerr who was in a coffee shop down the street while I was in school, but now I can. And by bookmarking it, I don't even have to go through the site, so no risk of anyone looking over my shoulder. We just need to change the font size, for us blind people, lol....

The font size is actually larger on BlaB than on iChat. I go out of focus using iChat. BlaB IM is really simple, I already got rid of the banned words fuck and bitch, so now you can fuck and bitch to your heart's content.

Still looking for instructions on integrating it with the board. I think they're hiding them somewhere so if I can't find them, I'll hit up my friend's webmaster again. :-)

Vicky, have tony show you, if you do not already know how to do it, how to clear the registers (history, login and login passwords) on a PC that is running windows.

I caught one at a Car Dealership that someone had set the password record on so when you log in it will record your password.

Unless of couse you are using your own laptop. There are many hacker teckies found in the school environment.... I would have said wackers but we allready know that.

Question for Tony: Is there a way to post somewhere here on the board how many chatters are in the blabroom? Like maybe down at the bottom where it shows what users are online, we could show #in chatroom? sometimes I get on the board I see others on the board and i go into the chatroom cause I have some spare time. Unless I private message people they would never know I was there. I feel so unloved! Unwanted, sniff sniff, sitting in my chatroom all by myself, it's sooooo lonely.... sniff sniff...

My php course isn't for another month or two! Maybe do it in a popup box when you sign into the board or would that be just irritating?

Done! What a PITA huh? So where you gonna put that little box? It'll show who's in the chatroom at any given time. Put it somewhere easy to find on the members page, BEFORE we have to scroll down to see it. Make it pop out at us baby, lol.
