That sounds like a good place, General....only problem would be that we would have to scroll down to see whether the chat is actually on or whom is there live. If there was a way to place both the chat lineup and the online lineup at the top, then that would be better.

Rokkerr had invited me to test out the chat last Thursday, but I was detained by other business....I could be open for chatting later today, if anyone's interested.

She hasn't put it up yet. But if you go to this link, http://www.vickyathome.com/members/memberstesting.htm, you'll see a gray box right underneath the "read my diary" link. If anyone's on Blab IM, our names will show on a list inside that gray box. So far it's been empty when I've checked but Vicky and I saw our names in there one day during testing so we know it works. :-)

Hey, We like the new chat. Thx!!! Tony D we like on main board box right underneath the "read my diary" but here are some additional thoughts:

Hot Julie came on the board as we were all signing off last night and we sent PM to join but not yet.

Poor thing had a non responsive (gay?) date. Hoped to cheer her up.

So you know us, we must make suggestions:

First, thought new phpBB software had instant messages. Is that a Tech issue or not possible?

Next, is there a way when we see “green online” button that there could be a link or button “Do you want to chat live now?” Rookker was able to PM and post to board, but there are 3 of us looking and there must be a more elegant software solution you Tech eggheads.

We still see Julie “Green online” but can not contact her. Off course that brings up another issue, some may not log out of chat and they are watching Kor-Vette clips or pix. Maybe a sound? Oh, something so simple is really very complex.

Just 2 more things, when we log in to BlaB lite the user name is in yellow and hard to read. And the Font is too small for some, poor Walt! Is this just on our screens? Same on all 3.

Yeah, we are aware of all the little quirks of the program like the sounds not loud enough and the font too small plus others... we are just testing and evaluating different softwares until we find something that we all like, and then we'll purchase it and fine tune it.

How do we get people in the habit of signing in to the chat when they come to the forum? I talked to Julie for abouy 45 minutes the other day, and Vicky and Dave for a good half hour this AM. You folks are missing a great opportunity. First thing I do when I get to the forum is come here for the link and log in.

Assuming that most 'puters/mice work the same, if you have a mouse with a wheel, just click the link with the wheel (not the left or right buttons,) and it will open the chat room in a new window. Next I turn up my sound so I can hear the li'l burble sound. Then I go on to another window to read the forum. If someone signs in, I hear the burble, and just click on the window to chat. See you there (or am I the only one who enjoys talking to Vicky and Julie and Laura and Sue and all the lovely ladies of the VNA???) Teehee

Nope, just go to the link Vicky posted and type any name in the login window. That's the chat ID you'll have in the chatroom, it's not really a login ID, just an alias for chat. We'll be able to do private IM's too as soon as we figure out how it works.

BlabChat is an IM service, much like yahoo IM, AIM, or Skype. Ours is private though, exclusively for vickyathome members. The great thing is no more dependence on Camz for simple text chatting on the site. However, we're still dependent on them for video chats as doing the video is harder. Next step is integrating BlabChat directly with this message board. :-)

This what I'd like to see happen...seems it's a daunting task though if not 'workable' altogether, hmm.
