So I'm dating now, kinda strange to me, but I'm enjoying myself. A little while ago I had to pick up some new equipment for the gym in Grande Prairie. A couple of guys that I like came with me to help. After the truck was loaded we went for something to eat. I noticed a strip club across the street and said we should go there after we're done eating. They were like "really?" I said it will be fun, we sat down, ordered a beer each as I drank water. They were having amuture night, the girls are all about 20ish and so hot. I went to the washroom but stopped at the sound booth and registered. The guys were shocked to see me on stage. I never won, but came in 3rd, was 7 girls competing. Best part was I made almost $200 in tips, not bad since I'm about twice as old as most of them.

One of the kids has been coming here since I started the gym in the garage, he plays hockey and wanted to get stronger. Well last year he played for the Olds Grizzlies in the Alberta Junior Hockey League, Mike and Connie know where Olds is, it's close to them. He was working out all summer 5 times a week and him and I would rent ice to skate once a week. The first time we skated I had him do starts and stops, so you start at the goal line skate to the blueline, goal line, to center back to the goal line, then to the far blueline, back to the goal line, then to the other goal line and back. Sounds easy, but at full speed, your legs are burning. I noticed that he was slowing down about 25' from the goal line every time. I never said anything and said get some water then let's do this again, one on one! He's way faster then me, but I wanted to show him that skating like that I might beat him, and I did. Not by much, but he was embarrassed. So I asked him why he slows down so early, cause that's why I won, I told him to skate hard all the way, and we did it again, this time he beat me by over 200'. After that he always gave 100% and more, his workouts in the gym were amazing, always pushing himself. This last month he tried out for the Portland Winterhawks of the WHL, and he made the team I'm so proud of him, from a squarney kid 5 years ago to an amazing young man today!

I went to Vanessa's mom and dad's place a while ago, they sold the farm and so I had one more walk through. I sat in her room thinking about all times we had there. The house is a log home, 4,500 Sq ft, so yeah it's big, there's a 65,000 Sq ft riding arena, 2 barns was a dream place for most of us.

Walt I hear from Vanessa about once a month, she's doing good, having fun being a mom. She was here for a month this summer, so we did get together for a weekend.

This weekend the volleyball teams I coach had a tournament in Slave Lake, one girl on our team I had to almost beg her parents to let her go. Their insanely religious and don't allow her much freedom, she's 17. So after agreeing to all their terms, they signed the release and let het go. They told me, she's not allowed to wear makeup, wear jeans or shorts, and more. As soon as we were out of town she's putting on make up and put on some jeans, much to my approval. Her and I have talked lots, trust me she's not the innocent girl her parents think she is. She's the best player on our team, 6' tall and so agile. Unfortunately both the girls and boys teams lost all their games, they were close, but we just came up short.

We all went out for pizza after, everyone was having so much fun, you know what's sad is we had 15 kids go and one boys parents were there and one of the girls her mom was there. The lack of support always amazes me from the parents, I don't understand it. The mom, she's single and staying in my room, we decided last night to go to the bar to dance and have fun. We just sat down, ordered drinks (ice tea) and 2 guys pay for them. We were dancing and lots, it was getting late, I asked Tara what she wanted to do and she gave me the "you know what I want to do look!" but she said, "we're sharing a room, so I'm not sure." I smiled and said, so what, lets take them to our room, have fun and get rid of them. I do carry condoms with me and we went back to the room We did have fun, and it felt so good, the guys left and we fell asleep.
