WHO IS PAYING THE MOST (OR LEAST) IN THE WORLD FOR GAS????

Gas pretty much did the same thing up here Walt. About $.30+ hike. People were lined up for an hour is some places. There was no reason to panic over this. The gas is there they said. People just needed to wait a couple days to get the roads open so the trucks can get out. Instead people caused their own shortage.

That's true, Richard. I guess I can understand people wanting to top off when things happen. But then they sit in line idling, burning gas by the gallon (well, not that much, lol.) Did you know that, if you're waiting in a line for more than a minute, it's cheaper to turn your engine off? I think they've figured that it takes a minutes worth of gas to start your car. So, more than a minute, you're wasting. Now, one little time won't save much. But, for example, take the fast food window. Many times someone up front has ordered enough food to feed the 7th Cavalry, and it takes a while. Or maybe ordered something that no one else has ordered in six weeks. So, it takes time to fix it.

I remember once, Carls, Jr. advertised some chicken strips that sounded good, so I ordered them. After sitting there for several minutes (and 3 cars backing up behind me,) I called the manager over an asked him what was taking so long. He said, "Well, we have to cook it." I replied, "Maybe you don't understand the concept of 'Fast Food.' You're supposed to have the food pretty much ready so that all you have to do is assemble it and sell it. Meat will keep well over an hour. So you should have a couple or three orders cooked up. If you have to, you stick it in the microwave for 30 seconds to reheat it. Now, I think I've waited long enough, so I want my money back." He gave it to me and I drove off. I think that's when I started saying, "I'll pay you when you deliver my food." And, yes, I check my watch. That way, if they take too damn long, I just drive off (Yes, I have before. Snotty bastard, ain't I? lol.) I refuse to be "locked in" to anything. And, if I have paid, it doesn't bother me at all to ask for my money back.

Typically, if the line haven't moved in 15 - 20 seconds, I'll shut my engine off. Sometimes, they'll move 20 seconds after that, haha. So, I guess it's a crap shoot either way, lol.

I've gotten to where I usually fill up when I reach 1/2 tank. It makes me feel better. $12 bucks is easier to spend than $25.

I paid $2.09 yesterday in Phoenix. Its gone up about $.10. No lines at all.

Arizona still has common sense and is not gouging it's customers. Most of Texas has JUMPED up to $2.49 (and a lot of Southern New Mexico.) It's amazing that 95% of the stations in West Texas are showing $2.49. Couple hundred easily.

Headline in this morning's El Paso Times: "Gov. Abbot: There is no gas shortage." But stations all over Texas are up to $2.49. But there's no collusion, no price gouging.!

Phoenix gets its fuel supply delivered by two pipelines. One from Texas and the other from California. The system has always worked well.

Shameful and disgusting. How the government allows this type of stuff to happen to decent, hard working people will never cease to amaze me.

As if enough hardship isn't dumped onto the laps of people coping with Harvey, they have to deal with scum who prey on the most vulnerable.

The most disgusting part of that register slip is at the bottom where it says "Thank You..Come Again"

I am in Michigan and I just paid 2.65 a gallon. Last week I paid 2.25. Not as bad as most places I guess

our gas goes up every winter when the change over to winter blend and we have an artificial shortage and down even spring as they switch to summer blend. and then gas in Cali is subject to whatever disasters happen usually taking our reserve. we have 2 big plants,L.A. and the BAY, and several small ones but always we have shortages every winter

Petrol here is around £1.18 per litre (litre NOT gallon).
I gallon = 4.54609 litres
therefore we are paying about £5.364 per gallon.
Going by today's exchange rate on my i-phone that is $7.27 per gallon
Of course if you buy petrol in big cities or on the motorways, you can add an extra 10p per litre!

Gas goes up and down here so much it's stupid. Every long weekend it goes up, then slowly comes down. It's 1.05/l now, but a few weeks ago it was 1.20/l

There is a lot of Government tax on it - so they get most of money.
But at least we don't have to drive some of the distances you guys do!

I didn't look back but I think I bitched earlier about prices going up right after Harvey. They literally went up $0.25/gal overnight on the entire West Texas/Southern NM area. And every freaking station with earshot of my screaming went up to $2.49. EVERY station. They now vary ever so slightly, but I can guarantee you that they are not going to go down $0.25 overnight. They'll take as long as humanly possible. Suck us dry, you filthy dogs, suck us dry. And remember, folks, there's no collusion.

High?... I can top that with 1.53€/liter which is 6,96€/gallon or 8.32$/gallon here in Germany at the border to Luxemburg.
50 miles in direction to inland the prices are more moderate with 1.31€/liter = 5,94€/gallon or 7.10$/gallon.
In Luxemburg the prices are at 1.12€/liter = 5,08€/gallon or 6,07$/gallon.

You can easily guess where we get our gasoline...

I guess I won't complain about our price of gas but we all are getting gouged by someone and I do not think it is the stations themselves. I don't know how much state tax is added to our gas prices but it is a lot. That money is supposed to go towards fixing our roads and guess who gets their roads done first? Not us backwoods people! lol
