Last week I was going to gas up first thing in the morning, but didn't want to drive to get my hot chocolate to start my day. I did go later after lunch and was so happy to see that gas went up .16 cents/l. So I got to pay 1.49.9, I was excited. Oh Walt I filled up my gas can and only cost me $35, what a deal.

Yeah I agree with you Walt (have I ever said that before :signhammer:) gas went down a penny today, what a relief :yeahbaby:

Look at the Gas Buddy Heat Map. California is the deepest red of the entire country. Always has been.

I use it whenever I travel. Will use it in Tampa. I saw a station that was 10¢ cheaper than surrounding stations near the airport there in Tampa. Then tack on another 5¢ for using the Gas Buddy card, and that's 15¢/gallon I've saved.

The gas buddy card isn't a credit card. It links to your checking account. Then, when you use it to buy gas (pretty much anywhere,) it deducts 5¢/gal from the total and deducts that from your account. Pretty convenient, if you ask me.

I don't know precisely when it happened, but somewhere in the last 8 - 10 days, gas prices jumped 30¢ - 35¢ per gallon. And, all indications are that it was another overnight increase. Have you ever seen prices go DOWN by 30¢ overnight? Of course you haven't. Current prices are $2.80 - $2.89 here

I think Hawaii pays the most of anyone, someone can check on that but I think they pay almost $6.00 or more.

According to Gas Buddy, Hawaii is running $3.70 - $3.85 range for non Military stations ($3.35 - $3.40 for those,) and Maui looks to be about the $4.10 - $4.15 range. Anchorage, Alaska, by comparison, is around $3.15 - $3.20.

Andrew, check out Gas Buddy. It is very helpful, even in your own local area, where gas prices can differ by as much as 20¢/Gal. Over time, using it can save you decent money. I also use the Gas Buddy card and it saves me another 5¢/gal. It's not a credit card, it links to your bank account, calculates the 5¢/gal discount, then deducts the balance from your bank account.

Ours here in South Louisiana is running right about $2.40 to $2.60 for reg unleaded, so it's mostly average.

The Murphy USA station at the retail outlet I work at is almost complete with their total reconstruction/remodel. New pumps with diesel and non-ethanol available at every one of them, and an internal store. Reopening planned for near Thanksgiving or the week afterwards.

I paid $2.51 in El Paso when filling up for my trip. Looks like I'll pay about $2.77 when I fill up for the trip back home next Monday.

Sounds like a great station coming to town, Anthony.
