Most are around $4.50 here now, with a few holdouts at $4.20 - $4.30.

The government lowered the taxes on gas here, starting June 1st. That was supposed to lower the prices by ~30 cents per liter. But the companies just keep the money and the prices are still pretty much the same. I hope the government cancels the tax reduction before the scheduled 3-months-term.
It's ridiculous how companies try to and actually do profit from the war.

That's seriously bad when the Government does something for the public and the companies keep the money. If that happened over here, the Government would seriously be all over those companies. I remember that pretty much happening over here years ago.

People can blame gas prices on the president if they want, but US oil production is currently higher than at any other time.

I don't know if Southern New Mexico has done anything to cause this, but many stations along the I-10 corridor are down to the $4.50 - $4.60 range. Even in Lordsburg, which is typically higher, due primarily to it's isolation out in the middle of nowhere. Even in EL Paso, the station I normally use is down $0.22/gal from a week ago, to $4.63.

On the way back from Sierra VIsta, I filled up in Benson (30 miles north, where I turn onto I-10) which is typically $0.20 - $0.25 cents cheaper than down in SV. THe Benson station is up$0.75 from May 6th, but is still 20¢ - 25¢ cheaper than SV. In making the trip, (300 miles) I always arrive n SV with about 1/3 tank of gas. So, unless I drive around a lot, I still have plenty to get me back to Benson. Thirty miles is only one gallon. So, as long s the gauge is off the empty mark, I can make it. If I'm not sure, I can just add 2 gallons in SV to ensure I get to Benson, for a tankful at 25¢ a gallon. Twenty-five cents times 15 gallons = #3.75 saved, which is worth it to me.

According to Gas Buddy, prices in El Paso are down as low s $3.98. Makes me want to drive to Alamogordo, just to use up my 3/4 tank so I can fill up cheap, lol. I see a station in Las Cruces at $4.89, with a station fairly close, at $4.05. How do these folks stay in business? How would you feel if you filled up at $4.89, then drove 8 blocks and passed a station selling at $4.05? Get the Gas Buddy app on your phone. Look for the Gas Buddy Heat Map under Gas Tools. You know what route you're going to take. So look along that route and find a cheap station. If you're griping about high prices, do yourself a favor.

Yes, Costco and Sam's Club are typically maybe 5¢ - 10¢/gallon cheaper. Joining those isn't economically cheaper for me, because I'd never save enough money to cover the membership cost.

If you only consider Top Tier gas, they are 50-60 cents cheaper than other gas stations around here

That was me driving a U-Haul from Florida to Michigan a few years ago. I'd need gas and see a station, fill up and then 5 miles down the road see gas 20 cents cheaper. It adds up on a drive like that.

I'd even wait and find a group of stations and still same thing a few miles down lol

I pretty much swear by Gas Buddy. It depends on my gas mileage whether I chase prices around town. It doesn't pay, for example, to drive 10 miles across town to save 2¢/gal

But, especially on trips you can save. For example, when I go into Tucson, I can see the cheaper stations along my route, so I know where to stop.

When I go to Sierra Vista, I was usually filling up for the return trip at one specific station, which was usually the lowest. Then, on GB I found another that was maybe 5¢ cheaper. Then, in looking further, I found one in Benson (30 miles) that was as 10 - 15¢ cheaper. I just looked. Cheapest in SV is $4.59. But up in Benson, that station is at $4.44. Since it's right on my route home, that's a no-brainer (which is good for me,)

Fifteen cents a gallon is well worth the trip. At 15 gallons, that's $2.25. I know that I'll get 30 MPG on the way up there. So I can let the ole needle get pretty low and still be sure that I can make it to the station. I have filled up there before with 15 gallons, which tells me I still had 60 miles to go (17 gal tank.) The needle will actually go below the "empty" mark. So as long as it's at that mark or above, I feel pretty brave.

You can get the GB app on your computer for advance planning. Then get it on your phone for when you're on the road. You get a regular map, so it's easy to find any particular station. I've even driven to Las Cruces (35 miles) to fill up for the trip out to Arizona when I'd see a couple stations there that were significantly lower.

I like to fell out of my car today. Well, if I had been home, yes I would have "fell out of my chair." But, I was driving, lol.

Passed a station this morning selling Regulars Unleaded for $3.71. THREE DOLLARS AND SEVENTY ONE CENTS! per gallon of gas. And I've still got over 1/2 a tank. Oh,

Gas Gods you can be soooooo cruel!
