46 degrees for Steinar, Vicky. -12C is 12F, 35C is 95F, an incredible 83F difference for you and I.

We're supposed to be 70 all week (21C.)

2 days of sun and 60f temps, today rain and mid 50f's for temp looks like we are heading into the chance of rain daily part of our winter here in norcal. i do not mind to much as long as the snow piles up in the mountains so we have water in the dry months

Hearing all of the ice and snow problems in the East reminds me of a story.

My ex and I were divorced and she was remarried. I went there once to see my son, and they put me up on the couch. One morning, I went out and started the rental car to warm it up. It had rained the evening before, then the temperature had dropped drastically. There was a good 1/4 - 1/2" coat of ice over everything. I started the car and went back inside for coffee. When Son and I were ready to go, we went out to the car. Guess what I found? The door was locked! I was astounded, and couldn't figure out how that had happened.

I had no choice but to go in and call the rental company for a new set of keys (never occurred to me to try to find a "slim Jim" or call the police for one.) After an hour, the guy showed up with the keys. I signed for them, then opened the car door. Now what did I discover? The damn thing was in GEAR, and the emergency brake was not on! For some unknown reason, I apparently had put the car in gear before I got out. Then, since it was in gear, when I closed the door, it automatically locked. What saved me? The car was frozen to the ground.

Due to the ice that had formed everywhere, the car sat there and idled, in gear, for over an hour, and never took off, because it was frozen to the ground. Yes, sooner or later, it would have popped free and taken off. Luckily, My exes new husband had a flatbed trailer parked in front of the car so, hopefully, if it had broken free, it would have hit the trailer and stopped there. But the possibilities of all that could have happened make me shudder to this day.

Of course, if the car hadn't been frozen to the ground, I would have discovered that it was in gear as soon as I took my foot off the brake to get out. But, still....

That is a crazy story Walt! But I lock my keys in my car all the time when it's cold because all I'm worried about it getting back in the house haha.

It was 15 degrees for a high today which was basically a heat wave for us at the moment.
Just be honest with who you are and if you don't end up with any friends, good for you.

That's part of what motivated me to carry two sets of keys. I carry one set with all of my keys on it, and another with just my car keys, and that's the one I use when I drive.

"(...) you can do nothing but staying at home."

It's the only thing I'd like to do on Sundays anyway, lol. Soccer (English Premier League), NBA (Boston vs Miami), finishing it off with the "Sunday Suck". :D

Temperatures have gone up to +2C and the sun is even shining! Still cold though...
