Poor Connie... I heard it was -20 with the wind chill in Calgary yesterday..... it was 80 here, had to have the AC on all day.. Don't you just hate us? Why doesn't everyone just move to Florida?

rain and cold and the Mississippi River here in Memphis is under a Flood Advisory, seems like every year now it's starts to flood early or actually flood.

It was 61 degrees today. That's not winter. But I did get out for a bit.

You know it's going to be bad when your server company in NYC sends you a letter saying we have all the backup servers running and we will do the best we can to keep your sites up!

Tomorrow it will colder in Chicago then in some parts of Antarctica. DANGEROUSLY COLD WIND CHILLS. WIND CHILLS AS LOW AS 30 BELOW EXPECTED THIS EVENING, AND AS LOW AS 50 TO 60 BELOW ZERO EXPECTED LATE TONIGHT THROUGH WEDNESDAY MORNING, AND 35 TO 50 BELOW WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH THURSDAY MORNING. It's weather like this that I ask myself why the hell am I still in IL?

It gets all the way down to 29° here in El Paso, Corey, lol. I went thru -50° up in Fairbanks, Alaska years ago. A GF called me and asked me to come get her. This was about 4 or 5 PM. So I piled into the ole hot rod ('72 Pontiac LeMans) and headed north about 350 miles. Now, it had a nice heater, but the farther north I got, the more ice I could see building up on the windows.

By the time I got to Fairbanks (maybe 1 AM,) there was about a 6"-8" hole in the frost on the windshield that I was looking thru. I got to the house and went inside. I needed sleep, so I laid down 'til about 6 AM. Got up and we left. But, before I got to the city limits, the car overheated. The supreme cold was bad enough, but that super-cold air being sucked thru the radiator caused it to freeze up. My anti-freeze was mixed for Anchorage cold, but not for 50° below zero, lol. I called a wrecker and they towed it to a shop. There, all they did was open the hood and let it sit until it defrosted (couple hours?) They topped off the anti-freeze (about $20 a bottle from what I remember.) Once it was running, they charged me $200 for the tow and for the pleasure of letting my car sit in their shop for two hours, lol.

When you walked outside, your breath just clouded up in front of you. In a way, I enjoyed it, but I was only there for less than 24 hours. And that was all I needed. Felt great to get back to about -10° in Anchorage, lol.

Spent the week in the Burlington, Vermont, area for work. It wasn't horrible, single digits every morning and -2F Thursday. I got home after 11 Thursday night and didn't sleep well, so I worked from home Friday. Friday evening at 7 was game night, so I got ready, put on my winter coat, hat and gloves, went outside... and realized I was back home in North Carolina where it was about 50 degrees outside. :signhammer:

If I boast about it, it'll be 10 degrees out tomorrow, but it's FINALLY nice in Northeast PA. It's 65 degrees out right now. I'm so excited. I hope Spring is coming early for once. The winters here are horrible and disgusting. D:
