I don't think there's necessarily a shortage of water, but a shortage of rain to stop a billion fires :D

As I was leaving work last night the heavens opened and we had a very heavy rain storm complete with thunder and lightning. Within minutes there was so much surface water on the roads and the river just down from where I live had flooded across the road. Getting home, on which is a very short journey really, was very perilous! It's certainly cooled the air down now though here. It's definitely a lot cooler today!

We're getting more than enough rain here. Haven't really had a long stretch of sunny weather without any rain through June or July.

Love it. Should be a mandatory requirement at any lake that has public access.

Another requirement should be spell checking. Unless that woman is a model
whose name is Clear Sky (a quick search didn't turn up anything), the prediction
should be "Clear Skies", not "CLear Sky's".

There is apparently a second heatwave due to hit England in the coming weeks... I am not sure how accurate that is but during the last one I did have to move my computer into another, cooler, room in the house (the dining room to be precise) because the last time we had temperatures like that little insects called thunderflies or thwips got into the computer behind the screen... and stuck themselves to the inside of the glass. I had to get the screen replaced! As it's an iMac it would have been quite costly for me had I not had AppleCare... but now that's expired so I am not taking any chances! It's staying on the dining room table until it's much colder!

In the last 3 day's, I've received 2.03". 0.75" and yesterday, 0.99". And, yes, my rain gauge is that accurate. El Paso is built around the end of a mountain. Then there's the valley where the Rio Grande flows through, then the next part of the Rockies continues in Mexico. That results in East El Paso, Northeast, Central and West El Paso. The West side most always seems to get the most rain and destruction. A viable run-off system still needs to be improved here, especially on the west side.

We have these large drainage ditches that water is funneled to. Then it flows to very large holding ponds. There's one across the street from where I live. The West side seems to be lacking in these features and run-off causes damage over there. Couple days ago a woman died when run-off roaring down the street, burst thru a rock retaining wall and knocked down a wall of her house which fell on her. Rock walls are the mainstay in El Paso. But if the cement used isn't quality, it will wear out from rain and weather, then this happens. Not too nice.

We get rain other times, but not a lot. This time right now (August) seems to be when we generally get most of our rain. So each year, it's the same thing. We have quite good drainage here in the Northeast where I live, so we have no problems. But others seem to get a lot of problems.
I can resist everything except temptation.

Yesterday the temperature was 94 degrees but the weather said it felt like 103 degrees. I believed it too! I stayed in my house as much as possible. I could only stay outside for a few minutes then I had to get inside. I have to wait till just before sundown to walk for exercise if I want. It has seemed extra hot the last couple of days.

Zany
Enjoy each day we are not promised tomorrow!

Yeah it's just been brutal here ... so hot so humid, so much rain, everyday, everything on the back patio is turning green with mold. Can't wait for it to dry up a bit so we can n get out there with bleach and pressure wash everything....

I had to wear a long sleeve jersey for my run this morning.

And last night I saw flocks of birds flying north. Yes, north. First they fly north in small flocks, then 7 - 10 weeks later they head south in large flocks.

Flying north means hurry up and take care of any items left in the summer bucket list. Flying south means old man winter's coming knocking on the door any day now.

It can't be Winter soon enough for me! It was 90% humidity here this morning Which meant it felt like a 110 at 8 o'clock this morning... The humidity is now finally down to 62% but it still feels like it's a 100.. I'm getting in the pool right now....
