Not sure how bad the air is in NY cities, but here in Ottawa it is pretty much back to normal. We had a bit of rain, and all is good now.

As Vicky said, it is a lovely city. Parks, rivers, lots to see and do. And it has grown large enough that its no longer a sleep backwater like it used to.

Did a 5k jog for women's mental health on Sunday. And the Solstice Run coming up on 21 June. That one is always nice. Try to time the run so you cross the finish line just as the sun goes down.

Been following the Senators story...

Gave up on the Senators a long time ago. Pretty much all professional sport actually. I just follow whatever happens to be the news of the day. Actually, I get the feeling most of Ottawa has given up on the Sens - they certainly don't feature in the local news nearly as much as they used to a few years ago.

When my job assignment in Spain was done in about '78, there was another job available in Germany. I was about ready to accept it, but I kept hearing stories about how all the apartments in Germany were built of stone and were not (well?) insulated, so they were cold in the winter and probably hot in the summer. These were stories from fellows who had worked there before. So they scared me off enough that I just went back to Alaska.

Tomorrow we're supposed to get mid 90s plus mid-70s humidity, meaning heat indices near 110 degrees. On June 15th. Not July 30th. JUNE 15th.

I'm almost wishing for a major hurricane or two to hit us and bring the Gulf close enough to dive in to cool off. Yea for air conditioning and staying inside.

They’re actually calling it a heat wave here. I didn’t think they used that term here lol. But I’ll be hitting the road on Friday for a long planned trip to WA for about 3 weeks…

Where I was in Florida, they were reporting the water temp at about 91°. Sure was nice and warm. Maybe it's that way all around the gulf. When I went to Corpus Christi many years ago, the water temp felt a lot like it did at my vacation spot.
