Yeah my mother is now in Montreal and she said it was 28°? Crazy I remember when I lived there sometimes when we'd go out trick or treating it would be so freaking cold out we'd have to wear jackets on top of or underneath our costumes... Mother Nature is really broken.

Quickly cooling down here. Daily averages down to mid - high 80's, and they're already talking about hi 70's within the next couple weeks.

I think it was over 30 yesterday in Ottawa. I remember taking my kids out trick or treating in the snow.

But they say a cold front is on the way and temperatures will plunge by the end of the week.

That's true, Canada.

Oh, by the way. We have some unwashed, unemployable, homeless immigrants we'd like to pass on to you. You see? Mexico sets the policy. It's ok to allow the unwashed, unemployable and homeless to traipse through your country as long as they keep going to the next country in line.

Therefore, for all of those folks coming across the Southern border, we're going to provide them transportation atop our finest Zephyr Flyer, which travels north at the blazing speed of 70 MPH! They'll be there in no time.

You can put them to work firefighting.

One way or another, it is going to happen. Just a matter of time.

Yeah, unfortunately, with this whole mess. It's gonna be around for awhile. For everyone.

Not sure if you're talking about the fires or the people. When we (as a planet) develop the political will to solve one, we'll probably solve both.

The people. There are again thousands of people atop trains headed to the Texas border right at this moment.

The obvious solution to me would be some sort of Marshall Plan to reduce poverty in Central America. But I'm probably being too naive or simplistic in my thinking.

And tomorrow is supposed to break a record too.
The days are now short enough that I need to use lights when I go for a run in the evening. But yesterday it was warm enough that I was in summer running kit. This has never happened before. Normally, I have to switch to a warmer kit weeks before I need to start using lights.

But the temperature is supposed to drop over the next 2 days. High of 7C forecast for Sunday.

That's true. But you'll never get that to happen in this self-centered, anti-Ukraine world.

We are in South Carolina at the moment and it was in the 50s today, the dogs and I just absolutely loved it! I noticed people were walking around looking like they were cold LOL but I was quite happy! I think it's in my genes.... being from Norway and growing up in Montreal, I'm good with it!

Hope everyone is safe and comfortable in the frigid weather most of North America is experiencing.

I had to dig out my (all wheel drive!) car after getting stuck in deep snow.

And for a bit of humour, check out
