Hi Everyone!!

Well Tony D. talked about wrestling his home computer's operating system from Microsoft Vista back to Microsoft Windows XP....

Well I did it too somewhat.... I just wrestled more harddrive space by going out and buying an external harddrive. The HD is a TB - huge and also cheap too. $138.00 at Best Buy. Thank you for the great idea Dave!! :)) I was so apprehensive at first since I'm so "technophobic" - Is that a word? Hehe.

.. Anyway, I had to delete a few photosets in order to meet the installation requirements. And ran into the "Your harddrive is running (then critically low) on space." a few times. Yuk. :( I needed 60,122 KB and I had less that 2 KB. Things are working out. I just started bringing over a few videos and pictures. And I have 1.46 GB free on the main internal harddrive. Time will tell. No more removal of programs and losing videos.!! :D :) As I had to do both, when cleaning the harddrive to free up more space to run windows properly. (As I needed at least 200 MB of free space)

One drawback though, once I bring over enough photos and download even more videos to the new harddrive, I'll have more free time to post here!! Haha. Talk soon, love you all.

I guess I'm gonna have to break down and go for the terabyte HD. It's amazing how fast these damn things fill up, until you realise that a decent video clip can run almost a gig. I've got a number that are 7, 8, 900 Mb. And then, I also start thinking, "What the hell am I saving all this crap for? A rainy Day? In west TEXAS????"
I can resist everything except temptation.

Wow Walter!! 7,8, 900 MB? Hmmmmmmm??!! What do you have? Doctor Zhivago? Gandhi? The Ten Commandments? Ben Hur? Reds? Lawrence of Arabia? Schindler's List? The Good, The Bad and the Ugly? All of these extremely long epics....

Though we know what your saving it for...

John you're scared ("technophobic") of you're computer?? I thought you're the ulitimate computer geek!!?? :clap :clap

Tony and I went round and round with trying to get rid of all the Vista stuff that got installed on a computer of his, but that's a really long and still ongoing story.... :wtf: :wtf:
Having Vista and XP in a dual boot setup is a big can of worms most people don't want to do, but if anyone wants to know how I can help, I'm using a computer that's setup with both right now and they both work fine. I even have Vista working great, it accually works better than XP on this laptop, so all the Vista slaming is not completely correct, but again another long story... :signhammer: :signhammer:

Good job Johny getting an extrenal USB hard drive and put all your "data" on it instead. I do and it works fine. I use it to store backups and videos of shows that I record in DVD quality from my HDTV tuner on this comptuer. A typical DVD hour long show is around 2G, but like you Walt I don't know what I'm keeping them all for, so I need to delete some. But John move all you're data off to the USB drive and just use you're local C drive for the OS and the inital place you download files to, then transfer them to the external drive. If you do this you'll have plenty of space on your C drive and elimitate any of your disk space problems. And those big Terabyte drives are great and cheap!! :clap :penisdance:
