Wow Julie. I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your father. Although, you seem to be taking it well. There is nothing wrong with you buying a beer and nachos and placing in his spot undisturbed. Always, remember the good times you spent with him. He's in your heart and mind now.

Hello Julie,
Sorry to read about your father's passing; he won't be around in person though you have your memories of him & nobody can take that from you.

Oh, Julie, my face is so wet for you. I'm sorry, I just ran across this.
I can't begin to comprehend how difficult this is for you. I know that your dad was everything to you. I am so sorry and sad for you. Your dad has been there for you so many times, I just have no words except, "I'm sorry." May the love of your family and friends surround you all during this most difficult of times.

I just heard that Greg Ham of the band Men At Work has passed away.
According to the newspaper, he had been despondent for over 18 months since an Australian judge's ruling in 2010 about his copying of the melody of the classic campfire song "Kookaburra Sits In the Old Gum Tree" in the Men At Work song, "Down Under" as his signature flute riff. The group had been ordered to hand over a portion of its royalties and lost its last appeal in October.
Ham later said the controversy had left him devastasted, and he worried it would tarnish his legacy. "It has destroyed so much of my song," He told Melbourne's The Age newspaper after the court ruling. "It will be the way the song will be remembered, and I hate that. I'm terribly disappointed that that's the way I'm going to be remembered --- for copying something."
Two concerned friends who had not heard from Ham in some time found his body, police said.
Here he is playing saxophone on "Who Can It Be Now?" ....
Colin Hay noted that his rehersal take, "On Who Can It Be Now?" was the one that made it on the record. Ham also played keyboard, and more recently worked as a guitar teacher.

Adam Yauch (August 5, 1964 - May 4, 2012)
For those who don't know -- in this video, he's the unshaven one of the trio with the black leather jacket!

Bob Welch - R.I.P.
During his time with Fleetwood Mac. In 1972...
The 1978 single. After he left FM, he redid the song. This version has Christine McVie on background vocals and Mick Fleetwood on drums...

And the rest is history. I never heard much of the original FM, but sure liked the latter group. Their concert at USC (I think, or at least with the USC Marching Band doing Tusk) was a classic - on their "The Dance" Album.

RIP Michael Clarke Duncan
Great actor and he sounded like a great guy all around.
Like every other aspect of his life, the impression Michael Clarke Duncan made when he appeared in a film was always big. From his first major role as one of the roughnecks saving the world in "Armageddon," he rumbled seats with his deep baritone voice and earned laughs with his natural charm. He went on to be nominated for a Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his sensitive and moving performance in "The Green Mile."
here's one of his best interviews on tv, he's a cool cat & a funny guy, i like his style.

Shawshank Redemption, Titanic and The Green Mile, three of my favorite movies ever. And Duncan is the star of the "Green Mile". No matter how many times I watch it, tears always roll over my cheeks. And only 54, right?
Funny video HT. After 4 minutes or so, the talk about "I go down ..."

Larry Hagman — J.R. in TV’s ‘Dallas’ — dead at 81
RIP Jr Ewing
RIP Jr Ewing
Dallas was one of my all time favorite shows. RIP J.R.
One of Holland's most popular female hosts plays a Japanese journalist interviewing international stars. She's called "Ushi". This clip is from a couple of years ago when she 'did' Hagman. According to all the people in Holland (her show is a huge success), "Harry Lagman" is forever a classic interview. If you have 15 minutes ... check it out, it gave Holland a good laugh, lol.

Yes. Rest In Peace Mr. Larry Hagman. He was a great TV actor.golfshaft wrote:Dallas was one of my all time favorite shows. RIP J.R.
Though, personally, I liked him more with Barbara Eden, Bill Daily, and Hayden Rorke in I Dream of Jeannie. I grew up with that Sidney Sheldon classic. With Dallas not so much because I was never home on Fridays to watch it.

On Saturday on of my best friends Butch (Darrell) passed away. We saw him on Friday and he looked terrible, Gunther took him to the hospital and they admitted him but it didn't help. When I played hockey he was my bodyguard, he was so strong and never took any crap. The first time I met him I was 13 and new on the team and he said to me. "You better prove that your worth all the bullshit that we have to put up with having a girl on our team!" I laughed at him and told him if he played on my line he wouldn't look like a big slow slug. My first shift I got the puck down low and pulled the goalie out of position and put the puck in the empty net. I turned around and a guy on there team hits me so hard I thought he broke me in half. I wanted to get up and fight him but Butch grabbed him and said "Don't you ever hit our best player" and hit him so hard that I could feel it. We were good friends from that moment on. I'm really gonna miss him, although we drifted apart the last few years
