well, right at the end of the blab my mom calls us all upstairs and I knew it was about my grandma. She's been in the hospital for like the past month or more and turns out she passed away this morning at 1AM. So I'm pretty choked up about that. This year totally sucks, my dog dies, my grandma dies, my aunt diagnosed with cancer and they say she has a year to live.

Take a deep breath and step back a moment, st1fler. I'm sorry to hear of your difficulties, but I'm sure we all feel for you and these difficulties that few can understand. Keep the faith, buddy.

it was on my dads side and he just wants to get the funeral over with. I might have to miss some important days of school (end of the term, I have 3 major projects due mon, tues, wed) but it's worth it.

Stiffy,

I can understand what you're going through. My grandma on my mum's side has just gone into hospital this past week; she is very frail and could depart this world any day now. I'm preparing myself for the worst.

Today was the funeral and it was a big one! My grandma has lived in the same house for 59 years and my family is like "pioneers" there, we've even got our own road haha. My grandpa(i never knew him he died when I was like a month old) hand dug the hole for the house lol and the beams in the house are actual logs and still have bark on them. Brought back a lot of memories goin to her house. The town she lives in is tiny, everyone knows each other and it seemed like the whole town was at the funeral. When we got to the church the family was in a seperate room and everyone else went inside the "hall" (wherever you sit down) and in the little room I probably could have started cryin then and there but I held it back. They called the family in to go sit in the front, I didn't really like that because I was in the spotlight in a vulnerable position. It was probably an hour long ceremony and I must have used like 8 kleenex lol Nobody else really cried besides me basically ( I am the big baby lol and it's my first funeral). Family got to leave first too and my eyes were all watery walking out, me tryin to hide it. Soon as I left that room into the entrance I like broke down and had to go and sit outside. As I'm typing this I'm startin to cry again LOL

Good. I'm glad that you survived the wake, and the funeral mass. Though you are really not in the spotlight. Your parents are. Anyway people aren't really concerned about that at the time of your family's grieving. So you were crying - that's a normal thing. Your grandmother will be greatly missed. People may not be crying on the outside but on the inside they are. Believe me. Only God knows how much you, your family, and her friends love your grandma so. As Vicky says, she is now in a much better more peaceful place now, so cheer up. Always remember the good times that you had with your grandmother. Keep those thoughts in your mind and especially in your heart. As then, she'll be alive for you always.

Stiffy, when loved ones pass on, cherish the memories of all the good times you had with that person. I received news yesterday that my young brother's mother-in-law passed away from cancer. I spent a couple of Xmases with her and her family when my family were away. Also, my grandma is still hanging in; don't know if she will be around much longer as she is very frail.

On Tuesday, I heard the sad news that my grandma who was 96 years old passed away in her sleep. I had been expecting it to happen so it's not a big shock; you still feel the pain though. I will be travelling to Victoria (my original home state) for the funeral this Thursday, so I'll miss Sunny and Britney's cam2cam chats this week.

I hope to be back here again for Vicky's cam2cam on Friday night.

That is so sad Steve. Sorry to hear it. My grandmother passed away at a similar age and the only thing that I could think that was any consolation was that she had lived a long and full life. My mother just had a biopsy a couple of days ago too which made me worry about life spans.

Do not worry about the vna or camshows.... family in this place comes first............... Vicky, Sunny & the gang will be here on your return. You are one hell of a participant here and we wish you well.
