Hi Walt! I just want to make a short comment on what a gentleman this guy is. Walt was so nice to make a point to stop in my hometown during his travels back in August and we were able to visit for a short while. It was unfortunate that I was in the middle of my workday and only had a little time to share, but truly enjoyed the visit. :walt:

For those who dont know, cause most probably don't, I'm a TX native as well. I wanted to make an appearance at the convention in Dallas, but wasn't able to make it work on my end. However, I'm so glad Walt stopped off in my little village (literally y'all, it's that small) and we drove around town for a bit and had a nice time chatting.

Til next time...never know when that might be...

Awwwwww :blushing: I guarantee you the pleasure was all mine. Not sure why I didn't post a comment, but yes, on the way back from Exxxotica I stopped to meet and visit with Janet (JANICE!). Went up to Tulsa after Exxxotica to visit my sister, then headed down thru Lubbock and on to Janet's (JANICE, YaOldFart!) Texas stomping grounds. We had a great time together. She took time from her busy workday to give me the grand tour around town, and we discussed our perversions and fun with life and the VNA.

Thank you, Janet. You're a true lady, for sure.

Walt, you old fart, my name is Janice.

I thought you had been playing this game for a while now. You don't have to remember much, but a name is a good place to start!

But I'm not always good with names either. So you're forgiven. "peace:

Awww, Janice, you should have at least made him get on his knees and beg for forgiveness..... :nanah: :rotffl:

All kiddin aside, I agree with you. Walt is an awesome man and the fact he's still travelling this much at the age of 72 is admirable.

When I stopped to visit Janice, I was on my knees, GJ. But I guarantee you, forgiveness was NOT what I was begging for. :rotffl: :nanah:

I've heard wonderful things about you too, Zany so maybe we can meet up in cam or in person with Deauxma someday.

Little story...back in the day, I was working as a flight nurse so I worked 24hr shifts. When I was on shift, if we weren't flying, I would peek in on Deauxma's camshows which often led to "aftershows"! I had a lot of fun! Time went on, I grew to love Deauxma and her sweet, southern charm (how can you not love it!), but life got more hectic for me and I changed jobs, lost a dear friend to cancer, had another kid, blah blah blah...and I fell off the chat wagon here. Although I don't know how much time I'll have to be around, after Walt stopped in at my hometown in August, it made me want to at least come back in and say hello and visit a little.

The people can tell you around here I might be a little crazy, but it's just cause I like to have fun and tease the guys around here. :yeahbaby:

Sure nice to have you posting again, Janice. And, believe me, Beautiful, you were quite popular with the membership. We were always grateful when you had time to get on cam and "participate," lol. (I have some secret "screencaps, you know. And, for $20, they'll stay secret, :nanah: )

Well, I'm outta here in the manaña AM, Zero Dark Thirty, headed for Tampa Bay. Dang near lost the whole damn trip today. As it is, cost me twice as much as the original. Fucking stupid old fart!

Made all my reservations 3 - 4 weeks ago. Good prices everywhere, this won't be too bad. Decided to go out on Fri, the 9th and return Mon. the 12th.

So I'm sitting here fat, dumb and happy. These places always send you update emails, you know, "Your trip is right around the corner," etc. Well, I write all my info down when I make my reservations, so I'm all set. I don't need to be bothered with all that mostly advertising. I'm too cool for that.

So, just after noon today, I notice there's a new email in my Southwest folder (the Folders list shows me a number in bold showing the number of unread emails in the folder. When the number goes up, I know there's a new email.) Well, I want to print out all my info anyway, so I have a hard copy with me. So I open the folder, and see, in BIG, BLACK LETTERS, "NO SHOW flight cancellation (HP6JC8) | 08OCT15 | ELP-AUS | Brown/Walter Eugene Iii." WHAT?

So, I open it, and see, "We have cancelled the below flight and all remaining flights on the ticket/reservation for the Passenger(s) listed below.
Because the Passenger(s) listed below failed to cancel or change the reservation at least 10 minutes prior to scheduled departure or failed to board the flight(s) on a Wanna Get Away or DING! fare segment this reservation is now subject to our No Show Policy. Additionally, the entire reservation including any remaining flights on the ticketed itinerary are now cancelled and all funds from the No Show reservation are forfeited and may not be used or applied toward future ticket purchases."

What? WHAT scheduled departure? It ain't even freakin' tomorrow yet! What the fuck is going on? I was still here packing my suitcase, lol. My flight is tomorrow!!!

I looked at my car reservation: Friday, Oct 9th. I look at my hotel reservation: Friday, Oct 9th. I dig out my cheat sheet. Airplane: Friday, Oct 9th, Flt 422, 6:45 AM.

Awwww, Come on, What the fuck? So I go to the Southwest site to look up my reservation. Well the first page that came up still had my dates in the windows: Depart, Oct 9th, Return, Oct 12th. But when I put in my confirmation number and called up the reservation, there it was: Thursday, Oct 8th. I mean, I was simply devastated. What the FUCK??????? I was really lost. I just sat there for a minute. Well, the short story is that I obviously clicked Thursday when I made the reservation and never caught it. I had Friday the ninth on my mind and that was that. My first thought was, "well, son of a bitch, there goes my trip." I finally came around enough to think, Crap. I've got to go cancel my car and hotel or I'll lose all that.

Then I decided to call Southwest, explain myself, and ask if there was anything at all they could do for me. So I was on the line with reservations for 15 - 20 minutes and the agent said, "I can't get into it, because it's now a past flight and the record is closed. But let me transfer you to Customer Relations. Maybe they can do something I can't. I know they have different access." Well, Ok.

So I get Amber on the phone. Spent 15 - 20 minutes waiting while she was off doing something. She says, "Your funds are gone, Southwest is pretty hard on that, but I can get you on the same flight tomorrow for the same price." I had all ready looked, and the price for one day advance was $550 one way, twice what I had earlier. So, I jumped on that, I thanked her profusely, blew her a kiss, thanked her again She said she's send me a confirmation email in a few minutes, so I thanked her again and we hung up.

Part 2 (you didn't think the story was over, did you? :lmao: )

2 hours later I hadn't received the email and saw no evidence of a new reservation on the website. So I called back and we did the whole dance all over again. Customer service couldn't help me again, so we got Carly from Customer Relations on the line. She couldn't find Amber, but jumped in to help. She couldn't find any evidence of a new reservation, either. And she looked everywhere. I felt my heart sinking again. Anyway, she went off for 10 - 15 minutes, then came back and told me the same story - your funds are gone, can't help you there, etc. but I can get you the same price tomorrow. So, she fixed me up, and this time did it right. It's another $550 round trip, but the going rate for today was $1100 and that was nearly a killer. Yeah, I got room on my cards, but really didn't want to go another $1100 in debt. Well, didn't want to go another $550, either, lol. but still better than the option.

This time, Carly took all my info again, card number, contact info, all that. Now Amber never did that. So I don't know what happened with Amber, but Carly got me straight and I got the confirmation email.

I swear, this 'getting old' shit is not near as much fucking fun as it looks. So I just have to pay better attention. And, like Carly said, "you need to read those emails," lol. When I went back and looked in the folder, there was even an email from Wednesday, titled, "Your trip tomorrow is here." But, did I look? NOOOOOooooo-o-o-o-o-o-o-o! "I'm too cool for that. I've got all my info. I don't need to look."

Stupid old fart. :rotffl:

OMG! What a story! See, this is why I love reading your travelogue. Image :goodpost:

Seriously, though, what if you hadn't called back after not receiving that confirmation email from Amber? She delivered some pretty bad service if you ask me.

Anyway, glad to hear it all worked out in the end thanks to dear Carly, lol. Have fun in Trampa!

I'm totally sick for you. That is the first time I've ever heard a story like that. I can feel for you and all the different things you have to do just to book a flight these days. Thankfully when we fly (most times) Mike is doing the booking and he checks everything ten times and asked the dates to double check over and over again. But things to happen even to those of us that double and triple check. You will have to ask Mike about the time he missed a date by a whole month and that was a lesson that he will probably never forget. It was to take a small plane from Vancouver over to Victoria to visit his kids. The day he showed up the airplane company wasn't expecting him and thankfully someone had cancelled because the plane only held 6 or 8 people. Once they found his reservation it was for the next month so thankfully he hadn't missed it and since they had room he made the flight. Lesson learned I'm sure.

Yeah, GJ, after that first screw-up, I stayed right on top of it. I was checking my email about every 10 minutes

I have learned to call and ask for help when I screw up. And a lot of times, it does help. Southwest has helped me before. I swear by Southwest. I paid nothing for my baggage and nothing for my change of flight. And, like I said, they gave me the same price, which was 50% of the going rate for that day. Another airline would have charged at least $50 (each way) for me to take clean underwear, and I think most charge $100 to change your reservation. And would they have given me the price break? I don't know, but I seriously doubt it.

I'm slowly learning to double check everything, too, Connie. Have to do that. I have no idea what happened with Amber, but bottom line, of course, we "got 'er done" and I'm here, at a slightly higher cost, lol.

Ho-fucking-hum!

You ever have one a them days/weeks/lives where just nothing seems to work?

The hotel offers a nice hot, complimentary breakfast spread. Very cool, 7 - 10 AM. Well, I slept in a little, so headed down there around 7:45. Way at the other end, so I drove down there. Walked into the restaurant -- there were easily 60 or 70 little rug-rats in there, maybe 7 - 10 years old, complete with football uniforms, I mean swarming all over the place. Looked like little ants running everywhere. And whoever was in charge had them all bring all their football gear to the restaurant, where it was scattered all over the floor and everywhere. Now, it' a big restaurant, I saw plenty of empty seats. But when I got around the corner and saw the line (cafeteria style,) there were a good 20 people in line, kids and adults. Well, S c r e w this. I knew there was a Denny's down the street, so back to the car and down the road I went. So my complimentary breakfast only cost me fucking $13.00.

Wait! I ain't done.

Then, Rokkerr texted and asked if I'd meet Dominic to help him get set up for the show. Sure. So, since I hadn't seen any signage denoting where the show would be (it's kind of a big "hotel." I would call it a "motel,") I went to the Nightmoves website to see if it said what room the event would be in. Guess what I found.

Yep, sure enough, there it is. Clarion Hotel, 9331 E Adamo Dr. Wanna know where I am? Clarion Hotel, 2701 E Fowler! A very convenient 14 friggin' miles away!!

Anybody got a gun? I wanna shoot myself. Where would you people be if it wasn't for ole :walt: , coming here and creating fun and laughter with every fucking mis-step of my poor, pathetic life. :lmao:

hahahaha....sorry Walt. You're a hell of a writer and you make me laugh to the point that when I tell it to others (my wife) I slow it down to really tell it the way you intend it to be told...with dramatic pauses and contorted facial expressions :)
