LA Trip, Day 1:
Wow, I can't believe it. Nothing happened! Well, the trip went well, so, I guess that's something. I got here in one day, which surprised me. I left El Paso around 5:20 AM and got here about 6:30 PM, or 7:30 Mountain time, 14 hours. I kept the van at 65 mph most all of the trip for gas mileage and engine age purposes, but it cooked right along, no probems.
As I started getting closer, it was still early and I felt good, so I figured, "I'll just go until I get tired." Next thing I knew, I was here.
Rokkerr and Jose and I went to the Convention Center yesterday afternoon and got all set up. Bobbi's Mark came down, too. Bobbi stayed "home," I guess. I'm sure she wanted to be sure she looks her best when she meets me.
Then, Rokkerr and Vicky and Jose and I all went out to eat. Rokkerr had to go pick up Vicky from wherever she was shopping. I thought, "Oh, criminey, is he in trouble
now! Wife unsupervised with credit cards in downtown LA!!"
Vicky looked gorgeous, as usual, and we had a nice dinner at a Chinese restaurant.
Steve, if you're reading this, I'll PM you my hotel phone #. The show opens at 4 pm today, so I plan to get there around 3:30 - 3:45.
Downtown parking has gone WAY up. What used to be $8 and $10 lots are now $20 and $25. but I saw a couple a few blocks further away that were still $5. Here's a link that might help anyone coming down find parking.
