No the teacher just really sucked. I usually catch on fairly quickly... there were only 4 students in the class. Now get this I - called and spoke to them beforehand. I explained that I have never tried it, don't have the first clue about it and don't own tap shoes. I said I wanted to try a class or two before buying the shoes. They said don't worry, there will be beginners, all levels are welcome. Just dance in your socks to start.

So I get to the first class. Two of the students are dance teachers and part of their curriculum is tap. They both have been teaching for 20 years. The other student has been taking tap lessons for over 6 years. And then there is me. I really did not fit in. I kept making them stop and wait for me so I could figure out what they were doing. It was embarrassing. They were flying all over the floor, the teacher would say OK do this: 4 sashays, 3 felaps, 2 buffalo's, 4 this, 4 that..... I'm thinking :wtf: How could I possibly be expected to know any of this? I wanted to cry. I hate feeling lost and confused. I got a little angry with the teacher who explained that they only had 4 signups to the class, it's not popular enough, so they could not make 2 levels. What a major disappointment.

The hiphop class the next day was much better. I wasn't lost, I did pretty good, a bigger class, I wasn't the best, but not the worst either, somewhere in the middle....

I wanted to tell you, I'm doing something I've never done before: Planning! lol..... I've planned out my camshows about 6 weeks in advance, they are all on the google calendar, check them out...

Everything British, Freaky Silver Boots, White Hot, Baseball, PussyCat, Umpire, Girly Girl....... So if you have a request, make me put it on my calendar and then it will get done for sure!

That sucks about the tap lessons. Why didn't the instuctor take you aside and show you the basics as the other 2 could be told to do a routine and be on there way.

At Tea Kwon Doe, when there's new people then one of the black belts always goes to them and teaches the basics. That to me was the best part you get a little kid and show em a few things they were thrilled. With the adults it was the same way, people go there to learn, and if they were hot BONUS. Not that I would even notice.

Don't give up keep looking around I'm sure you'll find a place that knows how to treat everyone as individuals.
