From the Steve Miller Band:
Some people call me the space cowboy.. from "The Joker"
"Jet Arliner"
"Fly like an Eagle"
Davd Bowie:
"Major Tom to Ground Control"
Led Zeppelin:
The ending of "Boogie With Stu" off Physical Graffiti .... with the sound of the airplane going off in the distance.
"Traveling Riverside Blues"
"Immigrant Song" - in the land of the ice and snow, Iceland ... just because it is about vikings!!!
Listen to the lyrics precisely to "Hey, Hey What Can I Do" - because the lyrics here make perfect sense, not about because it's talking about the main guy's girlfriend as a hooker or street walker, but because he wants to "ball" her all of the time... it's about porn for Christ's sake, plain and simple!!!
Who decided that taking the curse words out of songs was politically correct.. In "Jet Arliner", for example, Steve Miller says. "I don't want to get caught up in any of that funky shit goin' down in the city. The censors now have him saying "that funky kicks goin' down in the city"
Others,
Next up off the Who's Who Are You album is the title song, "Who Are You?" There are versions I've heard where they take out Roger Daultry's singing of "Who the fuck are you?" With this ... as they have him say "Who the hell are you?"
And lastly, back to that same Led Zeppelin song again. In "Hey, Hey, What can I Do" where Robert Plant, has his words changed "In the bars, with the men who play guitars - singin', drinkin' and rememberin' the times, My little lover doesn't do that shit - has been replaced with "my little lover does a midnight shift." On this one, they actually changed the printed lyrics as well. Super Hype Publishing Inc, Led Zeppelin's publishing company as well as Swan Song, their record label along with Atlantic Records, must have flipped out..

Yes, it's so crazy HT (let's make it so fucking confusing) that no one knows the real meaning of the artists singing their own songs.
About travelling:
"The Ballad of John and Yoko" - "Standing in the docks at Southampton, Trying to get to Holland or France... Finally made the plane into Paris, Monday morning down by the Seine.....Gibraltar, near Spain....Drove from Paris to the Amsterdam Hilton... Made a trip to Vienna. Eating chocolate cake in the back... they look like two gurus in drag....Caught the early plane back to London... It's good to have the both of you back. Christ you know it ain't easy, You know how hard it can be. The way things are going, They're gonna crucify me"
The start of "Back in the USSR" - with the sound of the jet airliner landing in Moscow.....

.... With the changing of the lyrics and by dubbing his (Plant's) voice, whoever requested these changes....
must have paid more than They probably paid to Super Hype Publishing and to Swan Song ....
.... then to Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, John Paul Jones and the estate of John Bonham....
"Money - That's What I Want" - John Lennon
Don't blink as you'll miss Eric Clapton, Klaus Voorman, and Alan White....
Yuko is in the bag on the floor... Haha!!!
Just kidding John, Paul told me to say that!!!

We'll just forget that comment... (as it's a definite sign of your immaturity here on the board) .... "No ROCK??" ... To quote Daultry, "Who the Fuck are you?" Enough said.st1fler wrote:NO ROCK!!!!!!!!!! you old people don't understand rap! "Damn teenagers and their rap!"porndemon69 wrote:No rap songs
Oh we understand it, Stiff... C'mon the Beastie Boys, (white guys) I'll grant you that they are great. And Run DMC (black guys) okay they are great too. Eminem, a white guy, is also very good. Then there is the late Tupak Shakur and the late Notorius B.I.G. They were good as well. Sorry though that they passed on at such early ages.
...But most rap is not original, and they take and steal from other musical forms. Most of it is gutter trash language ... How many times do you say to yourself, I wonder how many times this asshole rap singer/artist is going to say "motherfucker" or talk about his girlfriends as "hos" in this song?
Most rap is S H I T !!!! - Notice the nice brown color I chose here !!! Plus it is so very fucking loud!!! Makes me want to puke - Let's breakdance, go scratch.
If need be, I'd rather listen to Donnie Wahlberg of New Kids on the Block fame....(his younger brother is Marc Walhlberg - the actor) as least their music has some meaning.
...And if you can't be with the one you love.., "Love the One You're With" -- Stephen Stills 1970
I'm not going to argue but I wasn't actually serious about no rock, I couldn't care less. Sure there are some songs about ho's and bitches and money, but they aren't ALL like that. The beats they have in rap are insane. They don't STEAL from anyone, they take samples of diff songs and make an amazing song out of it. Mixing songs together! Rap is Loud? what do you think rock is? lol
I couldn't care less about the language, I listen to some rap's with n bombs a lot doesn't bother me at all (and it shouldn't). I grew up with this stuff whereas you grew up with rock, you like rock I like more upbeat hip-hop/rap because I grew up with it. Leave it at that!
with that being said heres an OLDER one

I'm not getting into your fight about Rock or Rap, when your both out to lunch Country kicks ass. Like I said I'm staying quiet as a mouse on this as I have no opinon on such stuff
My only comment is Rap is manufactured music all bass and gives me a headache.

HotJulie: Sure that Laura & Sue would agree with you, they being in and around Nashville for a time as Country and other genres of real music like Rock, Jazz and even Classical, but never Rap! The LJ&S Trio (2 Pervettes and a Perv, not a singing group, LOL) know as friends many Country people and John_NY you may get a kick out of this. Away for the stage and studios, what do they sing and jam on that they grew up with? NOT RAP CRAP! Maybe a bit of Gospel like even Elvis, but kick ass get down fun most times all love best is ROCK & ROLL!
Julie, those that do not know Country think it is all play the redneck record backwards and "You get your dog back, your pick-up, house, horses and may even wife back!" Naive under exposed music bias idiots. Just ask Steinar about "the little tower of Nashville singing power" Martina McBride? Most County folks I have met love rock and roll too!
BTW, Vicky married "rokkerr" NOT "iBaDumAssJumpnHOs." Rock on VNA!
