Wasn't he in dirty dancing?
I'm so sorry for him and his family, that is very young.

Oh my God!! That is really that is a shock... So sorry for his family and close friends.
My favorite movies of Patrick Swayze -
I guess it would have to be with Demi Moore, Whoopi Goldberg, and Vincent Schiavelli in Ghost about 17 years ago in the movie theatre.
My next favorite would probably be his film with Keanu Reeves, Gary Busey, and Lori Petty in Point Break...
Next would be Road House with Kelly Lynch, Sam Elliott, Ben Gazarra and Jeff Healey...
Lastly with Liam Neeson, Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton in Next of Kin
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
On TV - I remember him in North and South with James Read. Patrick Swayze had the role of Orrie Main, the Confederate Officer whom he played opposite to his friend since West Point, the character of George Hazard, the Union Officer played by James Read.

Vicky:
Yes, he was in "Dirty Dancing".
HT, the mini-series titled "North and South" is where Jonathan Frakes (Riker on "Star Trek:The Next Generation") met the woman that he would go on to marry, Genie Francis (Laura on "General Hospital").

So sad for him and his family! Not really that old a guy for this to happen.
Ever wonder why they say "Rest In Peace?"
Our thoughts are there is often too little "peace" just trying to live and life often sucks. Especially when things like this happen to good people.

Actress Jennifer Grey, who appeared alongside Patrick Swayze in his star-making turn in 'Dirty Dancing,' remembers the late actor.
"Patrick was a rare and beautiful combination of raw masculinity and amazing grace," Jennifer recalled fondly in a statement to ET. "Gorgeous and strong, he was a real cowboy with a tender heart. He was fearless and insisted on always doing his own stunts, so it was not surprising to me that the war he waged on his cancer was so courageous and dignified. When I think of him, I think of being in his arms when we were kids, dancing, practicing the lift in the freezing lake, having a blast doing this tiny little movie we thought no one would ever see. My heart goes out to his wife and childhood sweetheart, Lisa Niemi, to his mom, Patsy, and to the rest of their family."

Dirty Dancing trivia that even John_NY may no know? Old me. I did some work for Vestron Video and owner Mr. Furst before they made Dirty Dancing
Guess what kinds of videos they were making back then? This was pre-porn as we know it today so they made "educational" sex instruction VHS flicks that covered everything. So all starts with Porn!
Not to diminish what a sad day for Patrick Swayze at all. Just had to as Sue and Laura say "dick wag" a bit with trio friend John_NY. ~ jebby
