Upgrading the board today (Wed, Nov 25/09)

OK, all done.... we are now running the latest stable version 3.0.6. Anyone notice anything different?

Yes. I was looking at the "about" page, and it doesn't read "3.0.5" anymore.

OK, that was lame. but when it all works perfect, what do you say??

Just logged on to the Board a few minutes ago and the index page looks more compressed; now I know why.

Not a bad thing Vicky, the grey background and layout looks fine; all good to me.

Seems more condensed which is easier, and slightly quicker also Vicky.

The only thing i notice different so far is the smilies are on separate pages, 1 - 5, and you have to hit next over and over to get to the smiley you want. Used to open on one large page and you could just click the one you want. I don't think this is an improvement.

i always have to stretch it, the smilie window. wich then trips up the code to make it link to the compose window, wich them means i have to F5.

is there a changelog i can view ?

that would be nice, i'm sure its pretty long but let's see if it can handle accents?

oh i did just notice the "view unread posts" (upper right corner of the board)

and on the left: View unanswered posts | View active topics


not bad, if they could be sorted by conversation or 1st unread post in each thread that would be nice.

but still the "bmp problem" when trying to save a pic or animated gifs.

HT, that "view unread posts" link has been there forever. You're just finding it? That's how I get to all of the new posts.

RE: The smilies. I found that my problem was this. When the window would open, it would be small. So I would click the double boxes to enlarge it, then click the smilie I wanted, and many times it wouldn't work. What I discovered was that I wasn't letting all of the smilies load. If I wait a few, until all of them load, then it works just great. Only problem now is, of course, that it is spread over 5 pages. Can't even begin to understand why the code writers thought THAT was a good idea.

are you sure unread posts? i know the view new posts and my posts were there, but not sure for the unread posts.

anyway i have 13 pages to read from that "unread posts link" oyve!

perso if they would just forget about trying to verify that the parent window is still there or whatever makes it flash in the taskbar, it would just be fine. (parent windows = the one that the smiley window pops-up from)
