He was very good, Fused. Great all-around singer/actor/dancer. TCM did a short documentary on his career a while back, pretty good. Those movie folks from the 30's and 40's and into the 50's were pretty darn good.

Hey Folks :) so speaking of music I found a great way to give a little something back to the community today. I bought a new guitar a few weeks ago and wanted to see if I could find an organization to donate my old guitar to instead of putting it on EBay or Craigslist. Sure enough I found local group that rescues guitars, fixes them up and gets them into the hands of aspiring young musicians. So far my local charity has donated over 500 guitars and got them back into the community.

If any of the VNA members has old instruments in disrepair, under a bed, in a garage or in the attic and have no plans to use it, take it out, dust it off and get it back into the hands of a young person and see if it changes a life. You never know, you may help start the career of a future hall of fame musician.

Check out www.rockguitarshelter.com It might inspire you to make a donation as well :)

"Lily was Here" Very cool, Redd. Thanks for posting. I can't believe how Candy nurses that saxophone in her mouth (That damn :walt: . Beautiful song, and he's always with the sex, right? :lmao: )

At first I thought it was "You Belong to the City" by Glenn Frey of the Eagles. I first heard this on an episode of "Married with Children." Al and Steve were wandering the city looking for a lost Barbie Doll.

And, the original, written for Miami Vice.

Excellent Blues, too, by 4 of the masters. Not quite the same as Steppenwolfs "Rock Me, Baby" but similar. Steppenwolf is more Blues Rock, while B.B.'s version is strictly great blues.

(Sidebar: Did you know that the B.B stands for "Blues Boy?" He started as "The Beale Street Blues Boy" then shortened it to "Blues Boy," and finally "B.B." Beale Street is a street in New Orleans, often called The Birthplace of the Blues. A lot of Blues clubs were there back in the day, and Southern Blues used to echo from the walls. A lot of the great blues performers got their start on Beale Street.)

Want more of Candy Dulfer? She seems to be pretty popular in Jazz circles. Here's a nice one.

Funny thing is I met Candy at Amsterdam Airport the day I was leaving for Los Angeles. It was at one of the many restaurants that airports have and she was really cool. Before I knew it, I had to get to the gate as the boarding process was close to get started.

Let's put another coin into the VNA jukebox! :D "Pretty Woman" by Roy Orbison.

I thought I had posted several early Cosby clips but can't find them anywhere. Even by search. Maybe, if I can remember, I'll post a couple tomorrow.

I've seen that one of Candy too. I did a youtube search a few nights ago for some sax music and discovered her. She's Dutch born I believe. I've seen a couple other vids of her playing for Lionel Ritchie when he did a huge concert in Europe.

Seeing her in hooker boots in front of thousands doing "Brickhouse" with Lionel is a hoot!

Gotta admit, that gir's got legs all the way up to her sit-down. And knows how to use her mouth, too. Anyone else thinking what TheDirtyOldFart is thinking? :hump: :nannerfuck: :yeahbaby:

Can anyone else picture her in a short short Camo skirt (and not much else,) standing on the hood of the VNA Assault Vehicle, wailing that sex (oops, I meant SAX, ) like there's no tomorrow?

(And Redd gets a :shandalips: for finding her. :walt: :lmao: )

Absolutely! She's very big in the jazz world and close friends with Prince. Everytime he's in Holland to do a show (and he's here a lot as "Amsterdam feels like his second home ..."), Candy plays a few songs with him. I wouldn't be surprised if some video footage of that is around on the internet. The boots look really hot on her, agreed! Even when she's not on stage though, let's say carrying suitcases from one gate to another, she looks beautiful and will turn 43 in September.

*listens carefully* I don't hear music anymore!? Alrighty, who wants to put something on again? :D Image
