just watching the joy on this woman's face is worth the time; hearing Thunderstruck for the first time.
I have seen a few review videos by The Charismatic Voice. She was also quite taken with "Spirit Of Radio"

When's the last time you understood the lyrics to a song?
Yesterday, when I was listening to this, although it's still tough in a couple of spots:

I watch The Charismatic Voice's videos often. She has a genuine joy for music that makes her very entertaining to watch. She is a classically trained opera singer, I believe, so she is very knowledgeable about where and how different sounds are made. I follow her channel so I get notified whenever she drops a new video.

Well, first I watched Frankenstein, because the name is familiar to me. Frankenstein, as I know it, was done by Edgar Winter. A little different from Rina's song. But I like Rina's. A little weird (the video, lol) but good music. The other two are good, as well.

Just in case, anyone is interested, here is Edgar Winter's Frankenstein.

I am not typically a fan of live performances, which I suspect that one was. I prefer the studio version.

I'm with you there. But, to me, a good live version (not all live shows are good, lol) can really light the fires. Take the Stones, for example, and Sympathy For The Devil. The studio version is the anthem. But the crowds love it and respond accordingly to a live performance. I think the Stones do great live shows.

I like Elvis. Probably my favorite. But I'm not crazy about his live shows, Las Vegas, for example. One exception would be his '68 Comeback Special. That one I liked. Much closer to the REAL (to me) Elvis Presley. I've posted these before. These are movie performances. But, to me? This is the real essence of Elvis Presley.

Nice selection! I hadn't heard any of those songs before. The way hitting the jukebox with the bad guy started up some appropriate music tells me that it must have been made by the Fonzarelli Jukebox Company.

I have probably posted this before, but this is my favorite remix of an Elvis song I hadn't heard of until seeing the remix video:

I like the remix a bit better than the original:

Fonzarelli Music Company - good one, lol. But "Loving You" was made before "Happy Days." So I would have to say that Arnold maybe bought his Juke Box from Frank (The restaurant manager/owner?) Was it Elvis who gave Fonzie his power???? :lmao:

The vocal of the second one is really brought out nicely. I had never heard this song until sometime 3,4,5 years ago. I can't find the clip I first saw, but I like the "hip-hop(?)" version. Lots of great dancing.

This, of course, is a movie excerpt. I'm not even sure I've seen this movie (Live Little, Love a Little.) And that surprises me, because I was sure I'd seen them all. most 2 or 3 times, lol.

I never even thought about time frames! The only storyline that works is yours, I think. I was researching the makeover of Arnold's towards the end of their run, thinking maybe that particular jukebox might have been sold to Frank and that Fonzie had conditioned it to respond to thumps. Unfortunately, I had forgotten about the fire that destroyed Arnold's. After the refurbished Arnold's is built, Fonzie christens the new jukebox with a startup pound. So, the old jukebox must have been lost in the fire. Elvis was 22 in 1957, and Winkler was 12. However, Fonzie is clearly not a 12-year-old. So, in order to stop researching at 3 am, I am going to just go with Elvis meeting Fonzie somewhere along the way and teaching the youngster how to do the jukebox trick. Even if it involves totally separate machines.

Agreed. I am fond of the hippie girl in the colorful dress. She seems to be having a great time.

Tiime for the holiday classics

Weird Al's record company insisted he do a Christmas album. This was his response. I believe the record company changed their mind relatively quickly after hearing it.

I like this song. Apparently TheOldRockandRoller has a soft spot (in his head??? lol.) Kathy Troccoli has a beautiful voice. She is primarily a gospel/religious singer. But she does a fantastic job here. First the original, then the later version with Kathy.

I thought this was kind of cute. The song is one of my sing-alongs. It came out my last year of high school. Few years ago.

A conservative blogger I check in on also has some musical talent in addition to being a cartoonist. He composed a little ditty for Saint Patrick's Day, and I forgot to post it here. So, here it is!

Do we have any members in Australia?

Yesterday I was looking for a video that I knew contained a nice Irish jig with two bands. I remembered the announcer using the phrase "rowdy dow", so I searched for that on YouTube. I didn't get the video I wanted, but I went down an interesting rabbit hole of western music. It started with this video:

phpBB [media]

That led to YouTube making a couple of suggestions. One was by the same band. The lead singer looks great in braids, but the song is a bit sad in tone for me.

phpBB [media]

Another suggestion that kept popping up, though, was for a different singer. Apparently "Western AF" (Presumably "Western As Fuck") is a channel that features many artists. The first one that caught my eye was a singer with a quirky song called "Tall Boy". She has an interesting, down-to-earth singing style. Her name is Abby Webster, and I liked the song enough to try another one. It also turned out to be slightly sad, but at least the tempo was a little more upbeat.

Then today I remembered the names of the two bands involved in the video I was looking for: The Chieftans and The Corrs.

phpBB [media]

I think the first tune in that video is "Toss The Feathers", which The Corrs have also done on their own:

If you like the early Stones, you'll like this one: The Last Time, Little Red Rooster, Everybody Needs Somebody to Love and an instrumental.

I always liked Bill Wyman because of the way he holds his bass. And it's always nice to see Keith Richards before life got to him, lol. Bill Wyman left the Stones years ago, to spend more time with his family, he said. He did form his own band, if I remember correctly, but wasn't trying to be "world famous."

Charlie Watts left us in August of 2021. Much too young. And, of course, original member Brian Jones was basically let go by the Stones back in the late '60's maybe. Brian actually formed the band. But apparently he started going off the rails, getting into drugs and alcohol. Of course, Keith did, too, but apparently Keith handled it better. The Stones finally dropped Brian. Then one night he was found face down in his pool.

Mick Taylor filled in for a while. Then they finally brought in Ron Woods from Faces, which was Rod Stewarts original group. So now it's Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ron Woods of the 'original' Stones. Still churning out Great Rock and Roll.

And their latest one. The video must be an AI production or something. I like it. I thought the girl might have been one of Vicky's friends, but I guess not.
