And they wonder why they attract a certain type of people who overreact and are prone to choose /possibly enjoy / idolize violence?

Well, I've said before about how political correctness is generally a bad thing. One such thing is an article about Catherine Bach. Remember her? Maybe you've heard of her shorts - Daisy Dukes?

Turns out, she's 69 today (dare I say it? A wonderful birthday for a pretty lady AND her guy, lol.)

Anyway, the newspaper, in reporting on this, says that she is an actor.

Actor? Dang, I always thought she was an ACTRESS!

The problem is, you are totally eliminating the female gender from ALL ACTING! Every person in the industry is male. There ARE no more actresses. I assume they've all retired.

I wonder how many women enjoy finding their female descriptives all replaced with male descriptives.

I say she's ALL woman!

The English language needs a gender neutral way of addressing persons:

he/she = hse?
him/her = hir? (Can't use hem, its already taken)

"They" works sometimes. But writing gender neutral reports is challenging and definitely requires some mental contortions. Perhaps we should alternate. Reports written in even years will be masculine, reports from odd years will be feminine?

Oh my god! That's just unbelievable! People need to be educated about how dangerous these things really are. I just read that July 5th is the busiest day of the year in the emergency room.

Kind of surprisingly, there were something like 50% or less for calls for problems. Very fewfor fires or whtever, something like 17 or so, ususally 40 - 50. Just listening from home, I heard surprisingly very little.
