I can see how a lot pf people would like it, but that's why I don't watch it?
So, wanna wrestle over it? Well, I'm too old, so you'll have to wrestle my stand-in from the UFC, Carmen. And if she can't beat you, I'll call in my back-up, Francesca Le'.

Here in Australia we get the WWE on cable TV every week; some of the things those Guys & Girls do just makes me
Not sure I want to have a Chair whacked over my back or head; I can think of easier ways to make a living
Despite that, the death of Randy 'Macho Man' Savage was big news over here

Steve, I revolve my Mondays around WWE. The only thing that keeps me from missing it on TV is having tickets to a live event! lol! I've gone to a few and have had ringside seats.
Walt my Dad was the same way until I made him take me to a live event for my 35th birthday. He talked about it more than I did! It's not the "wrestling" that fun... It's the crowd participation that makes it fun! Not to mention the crazy-assed signs people make in hopes of getting a little camera time.

Yeah, from what I see on TV, the crowds are pretty enthusiastic. I'm betting I would probably enjoy it if I went to one for the reasons you mentioned. Maybe Carmen will help me practise to help me "get in the mood."

I still watch WWE but I've moved more into MMA. Almost every UFC fight Carmen and I make our picks against each other to see who had the most correct. I did get a signed dvd from her after one of the cards where i got more right than her lol

I've never watched Wrestling since around 1990. Hitman and Owen Hart, British Bulldog, Big Boss man, Mr. Perfect, Hulk Hogan were around then. Most of those I've mentioned there are dead now.
MMA I've not really watched much since the demise of pride. Last time I paid more attention to it, in the UFC Anderson Silva had not long destroyed franklin, beginning his reign and Sherk had a belt, he won me some money. Everyone was raving about Fedor at that time. I guess around 2007-2008?
UK has cage rage etc, but boxing is still the main draw for full contact bouts IMO.
I tend to stick with sports like boxing, football(I mean the soccer kind), rugby, tennis, track and field athletics etc. I even like to watch darts, if you consider that a sport lol.

well lets see, Silva has defended his title 9x, Sherk has been suspended 2x for PED's. The mystique of Fedor was cracked as he lost twice last year, once to Werdum and once to Dan Henderson. I'll be honest with you, boxing is a dying sport b/c of how corrupt it is. MMA has taken over boxing for full contact fighting IMORhinestone Cowboy wrote:I've never watched Wrestling since around 1990. It doesn't seem as if UFC has took off as well in the UK, as it has in the States. Maybe because of a lack of British UFC fighters, I can only think of Bisping, Dan Hardy and Paul Daley as ones I could currently name with not following it too well recently.CoreyD06 wrote: well lets see, Silva has defended his title 9x, Sherk has been suspended 2x for PED's. Boxing will always have a level of corruption, with criminal underground betting on fights. Carl Froch admitted in his autobiography, that he could have finished his 2005 commonweath title defence in round 4, but he left it till the fifth because his family and friends had heavily betted on round 5. He considers that not a fix because it wasn't organised and was just something he decided to do. It looks like he has escaped punishment.

Ya know, I used to watch MMA/UFC all the time when it first hit the scene. I kind of got bored with all the submissions (and grossed out by the dislocations and limb breaking LOL). I like to see a lot of striking as opposed to grappling.
Speaking of pro "wrasslin'" and UFC... Did you see Brock Lesnar returned to the WWE?

No, I didn't know that Lesnar was back in wrestling.
Who are your favourite current wrestlers?
I wouldn't know who is wrestling now.

There are a lot that I like! I like the fact that the "gimmick" wrestlers are making a comeback, of sorts, like Brodus Clay, Santino Marelli and Kane has gone back to wearing a mask. Plus, I can never get enough of the "lucha" styles like Rey Mysterio and the like.
I like wrestlers with "Mic Appeal" too! lol

I was mostly into watching old-school pro wrestling (pre-WCW/WWE) in my growing days, I got turned off of wrestling when I got my current job, and its whack scheduling.
I don't hate it as much as some do, because I know that it's mostly entertainment as much as it's sports. But, I can dig the smack that's thrown around, even if the actual wrestling doesn't impress me nearly as much. Especially when it's being delivered by one Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.

I've never heard of any of those. It was WWF when I was watching it.Wankme wrote:There are a lot that I like! Sad but Randy Savage died in a car accident last year.
I love 'em but Hulk Hogan needs to go ahead and retire, for real this time, as well as Rick Flair.
The Undertaker is still going... He's "undefeated" when it comes to Wrestlemania events (21-0). I think that streak is going to end next year with Brock Lesnar being back in the WWE.

"Pro wrestling is fake!"
At one point it was actually real but, by today's standards and for entertainment value, the matches have "predetermined outcomes". A lot of the things you see them do on television have been somewhat watered down but the last WWE Pay-Per-View "Extreme Rules". If you didn't watch it, all I can say is... "Whooooa."
As I mentioned Brock Lesnar returned to pro wrestling and his first match is a extreme rules no holds barred match against (pretty boy) John Cena. I'll make this short and then let the video do the talking (forgive the downer song. I would've chosen something like Pantera's "Walk" but that's me).
One, Lesnar showed up in his UFC MMA gear, gloves and all! The bell rings and the two go at it! Immediately Lesnar (I kid you not! Watch the vid) lays down 3 big Muay Tai elbows to Cena's head with the last one slicing open Cena! They literally stopped the match 3 times to stop the bleeding! I hadn't seen them stop a match since The Undertaker booted Mankind off of the top of the 20ft. "Hell In The Cell" cage to the announcers desk! The rest of the match was hard to watch:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fkiOISeT ... e=youtu.be
Cena won, thanks to a chain wrapped fist that landed square on Lesnar's forehead, busting him open but the match was all Lesnar brutality.

I love watching wrestling, Ric Flair was by far my favorite WOOOOOOO, I do like CM Punk, AJ and Kelly Kelly, Shamus is hot too, I mean good. The King and Michael Cole make it interesting to watch too. Lots of good wrestlers came out of Calgary, The Harts, British Bulldog, Y2J, there's more all from Stu Harts "dungeon" Just entertaining for me to watch as I'm not much for tv
