Thanks Bobbi you gorgeous piece of amazing ass!!!! thank you guys too it's week 5 of treatment and no more chemo for now....YAY!!! She has been such a tropper but majorly sick this week so I stayed with her for a few days to keep an eye on her. her potassium levels were very high which I guess made her more sicker. Then on top of finding the right meds to help with nausea she has had quite the buzz which made us laugh with her at times because she was doing some weird thing's! Next week oddly enough she is done on my birthday till the 30th then we will find out how much it has shrunk or hopefully small enough for surgery.
I will keep you posted.........I have finished 2 thousand piece puzzles there trying to fill in time and they have these ladies that walk around and give out free drinks/cookies.....lol they have a piano and people that can play do which is kind of nice. They have lot's of thing's to try to keep people busy which is nice.
thanks everyone

Thank you Shanda for the update as my friends have expressed before me and thank you for bearing a little of your heart and soul along the way. This forum as taught me to look for support when I might need it in the future and hopefully has reminded all of us to seek guidance when we might need it in our lives.
Friends, whether they are in the same room, across a telephone line or are thousands of miles away on the internet share something in common...a collective hug for you and support for your Mom, someone we care about though have never even met, but through her daughter is someone we already know and wish well.

Just catching up on things - celebrate the life of a passed member of the family albeit not easy to do at times. Was going to ask if it had spread and seems thats been answered so it is going to be a running gun battle all the way. Stay postiive, stay on the doctor's case while leaving no stone or question unturned or unanswered. There is still a good probability of beating and it's not over till it's over.
Sending postive thoughts, wishes & prayers your way!

That was really well said Mike thank you very much....that was so well said!
Thanks Steve and Crank...you are so right it's not over till it just is!
So today they made some changes. They made today her last day of treatment till July 4 then we will have a new schedule and after the CT scan today and Simulator we will know this week or next how much has shrunk. She is on Cisplatin for chemo and she was done that last week for now...hopefully she won't need anymore chemo and just radiation....fingers crossed! The chemo was the hardest on her by far and this past week I could really see the toll it has taken on her. She lost 20 pds in 5 weeks but my mom is a cute little thing with some extra meat...lol so if she loses some weight it would be a good thing for her. Then the surgeons would also have more confidence reversing her colon surgery she had 2yrs ago. It's complicated but the cancer surgeons would then be able to help her more but the way things are they don't feel they could do surgery unless it was very very small.
I am so happy to get a break from this all right now I so need it.
I really appreciate you all checking in on mom and I!

Wow Shanda. I'm just reading this thread for the first time in quite awhile. Having to deal with your very sick mother is one thing. Then having to deal with the death of your brother. That's another.
I'm so very sorry for the loss of your brother. My condolences go out to you and your family. May you all find strength through this very difficult time.
God Bless.
