Mike and GJ both, obviously a TON of time and effort here. But it is every bit rewarding to me, and I am betting the entire VNA, to see such excellent output. Absolutely beautiful graphics work, excellent yearly synopsis and, just over all, an effort almost too much to believe.

I'm just about to start work on the artwork for the first Issue of the New Year, I will be spending the next couple of hours going through and selecting photos for the Magazine cover.

We are going to change the magazine name to VNN, Vette Nation News, This works nicely with a slogan that Vicky came up with just after Christmas.


If there is any thing that you want to see or see more off. Do you have an Idea for feature, let us know, the more input we have the better we can make the magazine.

I have good and some bad news. I'll start off with the good, cause it'll automatically lead me to the other.

This week I got some awesome news at work. Some of you guys know, some not (yet), but I'm a manager at one of approximately 150 entertainment stores where we sell CD/DVD/Games/Ipad/Headphones, etc. Late December I applied for 'District/Regional Manager', which would be a great new challenge. Last Monday I got the good news ... YES! "You're the perfect man for the job", is what they told me. So instead of managing one store, I now get the supervision over all our stores in my 'state/province', which is about 10!

Maybe you already have an idea of where this is going? Writing articles is a long process. First, the idea/feature, then research, the actual writing, and lastly the editing part. This new job of mine includes more working hours and more traveling. It led me to make the decision that the big story on VNA's 2012 was the last one. Main reason is time. Or, lack of time, lol. There are only 'x' hours in a day. I had much fun working together with Mike on our monthly project. I've informed him a few days ago, seems only fair, right?

To end with a positive note, I will keep reading all the news and opinions on this board. And ofcourse post my own opinion here and there, lol. And I will keep on attending as many camshows as I am right now. Who needs sleep anyway?! Maybe in the near future go to even more shows, have already been to Jayla (5am) & Candy (3am), too. Interaction with the girls and members is the best.

Well, GJ, it's always nice to know you chose a lowly job over actually having fun with ME!!!!

Sounds like a great opportunity, my friend and you are certainly wise to take it. The prestige of being an area manager is a no-brainer. This will only lead to bigger and better things. While fun, the VNA is a part-time endeavor. And, while you enjoy the VNA and love your time here, your job is always more important, and is clearly where you should focus your efforts.

I don't know about you, but I always loved traveling. One of the cool things about the spacecraft project I've mentioned before was that I got to travel on the companies nickel and stay in some pretty nice places. So that is certainly where you should focus your energies. We will still be here when you can find absolutely nothing else better to do with your time, and want to see if the other half is still alive.

We'll miss you at Adultcon, but wish you well and look forward to seeing you check in.

Walt, thanks to todays electronics, you are going to see me around here just as much as you have over the past 10 months. VNA is like a drug; very addictive. And missing Adultcon?? Hell no! Kisha and I are almost done planning everything. Both of us will be there ... (to check if YOU are behaving yourself, mister!)

I love traveling as well. Unless there's 10cm of snow, which causes major train delays or even worse, no trains at all, lol.

Hey Gert-Jan..Congrats my man on the new promotion. Thats a lot of traveling and a lot of time to take care of that many stores. I could barely keep track of one store years ago as a dept manager but maybe I was trying to run it using an abacus.

Good news that you can still come to Adultcon. I'm looking forward to seeing you again and discussing a new position within your organization :)

With the chief writer gone. And unlikely to find a replacement, what to do now...!

I personally don’t have the time to write articles and do artwork for the magazine.

This is more that a part time endeavour as it takes days/weeks to work on the artwork that you guys finally get to see.

The new magazine cover design work started just after we published the December issues and was only finished yesterday.
I still have work to do on it before I post it.

I’m currently working on a design project and will not be able to put the time into the magazine as I have in the past. I have been so busy that I missed that last two weeks set of cam shows and only just managed to make Shanda’s show on Saturday and Monica’s show on Sunday.

So I have come to the decision for the time being I will just go back to creating the magazine covers.

Well, all 10 stores have their own store manager. I'm just the guy who decides whether they can stay or go, lol.... okay, that sounded cruel. Costs, sales, profits, deciding if contracts of the people working in the stores should be renewed or not. And I'll have lots of contact with the store managers via e-mail, so whenever I want to stay home and work from there, I can also do that!

Okay, feels like I'm rambling now ... ... thanks again, ya'll.

Mike and GJ, I'm certainly glad to see GJ step up to his new endeavor. But it sure would be sad to see the magazine fold because the work was just too much for one person. If any of you have any writing abilities, please contact Mike and step in there. I like to write, but I know that I just don't have the ability or the time to step into this effort.
