What a trip,... I'm so glad we are safe and on the ground..
This was the worst trip ever I think.
We got into a storm.. and they didn't know.
first 2 hours they couldn't serve drinks because of the seatbelt sign was on also for the crew. So after 2 hours they did a hooray .. and said finally we can serve some drinks.. (also i forgot to mention when we took off,. suddenly power broke down.. so that was not good either)
But I was already really tired.. the weekend.. didn't eat good..mstress for my babies in the carrier.. the dogs i mean. And so i was already trowing up... not so nice when the pa of Tina Turner sitting next to you.. and you don't have legroom because of the carrier and you sit in the middle.
But I manage to trow up without any sound under my hoodie.
When I was totally sick.. got kind of fever i guess too... i shaked and got a little panick attack. But i was under control still.
only when the stewards and the people start screaming..I got really scared.. I couldnt look up really because i felt so ill. And the panic in the stewards eyes were not good. People behind us were praying.. Mark got scared too.. and I as onoy thinking.. hmm does anyone know we are in this flight.. or did i forgot to say what the flught number was. i really thought we would crash... i couldnt hear the dogs anymore.. so that freaked me out.. but I also was still trowing up...
after another hour of seat belt sign.. i asked for more bags too trow up.. But the lady sterd saw my face,. and she calmed me down.. and she saw i didn't look good at all. immidiatly she brought me a big trash bag.. cold water.. ginger ale.. and ice.. and napkins.. i always have babywipes in my handluggage.. so at least that was good.
after another 15 min.. she told me to stand up and maybe try to stretch my legs.. i couln't walk.. but I did.. and there s another lady that had the same.. also panick attack.. cry and trowing up. ppfff it was a nightmare..
i really didn't care anymore what happened i felt soooo ill.
i went back to my chair and half hour later we landed.. i still trowed up..and we aited til everyone was out.
i manged to get a grip.. but couldn't walk really..
they got me a wheel chair.. and they got me to the bagagge claim. I was littery in shock.. And it took me more then a day amost to recover..
ppfff.. we are safe at least and the dogs were troopers.
so what a nightmare..
and what a drama story lol..
I think I'm not a trooper in this kind of situations.. even though i managed pretty well in the situation we were.
kisssss to all! xoxoxo

Well, glad to have you back, Bobbi. So, how was your trip??
OK, love, even I'll admit that might have been a bit out of line. Problems on an airliner are nothing to be scoffed at. And those with a fear of flying should never be ridiculed. Flying doesn't bother me, but if the plane was hurdling toward the ground at 600 mph, I might have different thoughts.
I was in a plane once that was experiencing icing and turbulence. i didn't get very scared, but a bit nervous might be right.
We are glad you are back with us, Bobbi, safe and well and calm once again. Save me a hug for Adultcon.

We're reminded again why people use the line "Have a safe flight". That truly sounds like one hellish flight. Anyways, good to hear you've reached the 'safe house' in LA. Have fun later this week with Vicky & Rokkerr!
Yeah, what our dear Ms Kisha said!Kisha wrote:missed the web chat yesterday that literally brightens my day following a days work with all of the laughter and humor that we have within 1 hours time

Glad to hear you're slowly picking up on your normal US rhythm again. I did notice things were pretty quiet around you, lol, not on cam, rarely sending out tweets. All understandable though. Very much looking forward to all the things you got planned for us and, obviously, count me in for tomorrow afternoon, 5PM EST!
Wow, seriously Mike? I have heard this before from more people, Bobbi too, but since I have never been overseas I didn't realize it has such a big influence on a human's body.Mike42 wrote: We where in Orlanda and Clearwater for three weeks back in Janunary 2000 and I had to take another week off when we go home to get over the jet lag.

Hi Bobbi, glad to hear you made it safely back to LA after such an ordeal getting there Hope to be there for tomorrow's cam show @ 7am my time despite me suffering from flu right now
Steve, the horny voyeur down under
Nothing worse than getting or being ill on a flight. Way too many to recall during my flight days but I am estatic my flying days are done! One that comes to mind was a 50 passenger connector flight and we hit clear air turbulence for half the trip to Pittsburgh! One guy hits the luggage rack... and the woman aside of me was white and pale as a ghost.... Got her bag out in time and promptly gave her another...
the other one was a jet coming out of dfw where the apu malfunctioned and the backup was having an issue so we be turning around. A female passenger in the middle seat who after explaining on the ascent her "fear of fying" went white as a ghost. After talking her down from the cabin bulkhead and blood started to flow there is a reason why you don't want to sit too close with someone who has great nails on a flight that is going back for repairs. My brain was going ouch, ouch, ouch while my smile was saying "it's fine, gonna be a smooth landing".
sounds like it might have been a 24/48hr bug and getting one of those on a plane is a freakin nightmare!

I traveled all over europe and the far east for work and pleasure and never had the let lag like i did returning from the states, I think most flight back to europe from the states are night flights so we left in the dark and got back in the dark no a great help.

Weird, I flew back and forth from Alaska to Germany and Spain a few times in the 70's and don't remember ever experiencing Jet lag. But then it WAS 35 years ago....
I can resist everything except temptation.
Same here but it was to SEAsia, Italy mostly but I also went to bed as soon as I arrived (scheduling it so I would try to get there in the PM hours... rather than some who stayed up. They seemed to suffer moreso.WalterB wrote:Weird, I flew back and forth from Alaska to Germany and Spain a few times in the 70's and don't remember ever experiencing Jet lag. I've also found that going from the east to west coast has more jet lag issues with it than going west to east.

Holy Chaos! Bobbi & Marq, good to have you back save & sound
I love flying with big planes & have a 300,000 miles experience in that, with all kind planes.
As long as it is going up & down, you don't have to be scared.
But if it's going hard down for more than 60 seconds, then you may get worry lines in your face.
The main problem is that the people get air sick like in a rollercoaster.
The stomach starts for rebellion & you feel as weak & sick as never before, with the consequence that you loose the overview & control = PANIC !!!
How to avoid this?
The small meals, they serve, fill your stomach just a little that it has to work a bit, but it's not that heavy.
Eat something. NO COFFEE (sorry, Bobbi), coke or things that push you up!
Just mineral water with less gas is fine.
Pills doesn't help...in my case.
Next, if you get aware the plane is moving in a way you feel unsave, fasten your seat belt as tight as you can (it prevents you from having 0 gravity fun), put your legs onto the chassis of the seat in front of you & grab the armrests left & right strongly.
They are most times a bit flexible, so you can move them a little bit up & down.
This position gives you the imagination of control over the plane!
Now, imaginate you are sitting in a high speed rallye car driving at high speed, flying over a flat hill.
If you feel better with it try to imagine, you are sitting in the cockpit & follow the movement of the plane with the armrests by moving them up & down, like a pilot.
Pick a far point in front of you with your eyes & follow the movement with your head.
Btw, the best place in a plane is in the front area.
Why? When you look out of the window while the plane in in a storm, you can see the wings moving up & down for more than 2 meters, which looks terrible, but this is normal & no problem.
The worst place is in the middle because there, the plane is moving at the most.
Did you ever see a swan flying? The head is always in straight direction while the rest is moving up & down a lot.
It's similar with a plane. That's why the first class is always in the front area.
This way to fly is a bit stressing but the best way in uncomfy weather.
When you get back into a normal flight zone you can relax, then look out of the window and enjoy it or have a little sleep.
Later, when the people are shouting of anxiousness, you may just look up thinking & go on sleeping.
Then you are a flight professional.
Once I was on the way to Tokyo with a Boeing 747 (Jumbojet) we had air holes in a hight of 10,500 meters due to a stratosphere storm. We got a zero gravity experience for about 10 seconds. The service boxes from the flight attendants jumped up & crashed hard when the wings got the stream back.
That was as "shit in the panties moment", really! (Hey Shitpamo, a new word for the Vickypedia!)
Also, when I once came home from Berlin, I woke up during landing.
I have to explain that I'm always falling asleep during start & landing, I don't know why.
Not this time! In a hight of about 100 meters, I looked out of the window & saw a totally destoryed Learjet, which parts lied wasted all around. 10 firefighter trucks & amulances were driving around.
Later in the news, I heard about 10 dead. 45 minutes before I landed.
I had deep thoughts about it for a long time.
Sad story and a shitpamo, of course.
To give you some hope, I want to tell you that most of my flights were excellent.
Once when I flew back home from San Diego to Germany, I saw the Aurora Borealis for about 4 hours in a hight of 10,000 meters. One off the most beautiful times in my life!
OK, Bobbi, take care of my tips & become a flight pro!

Carl
