SInce I love music so much thought I'd start a thread about music that people are listening to. Here goes.....

Black Country Communion.....Their latest CD just came out, it's called Afterglow. The band consists of;
Glenn Hughes - 72 year old singer/bassist. His pipes are amazing. The guy started out in Deep Purple Mach II with David Coverdale in the late 60's early 70's and his voice is better now then ever. Go figure. Only Sammy Hagar can compete.

Jason Bonham on the drums - Son of the late John Bonham of Led Zepplin fame.

Derek Sherinian on the keys.

And last but not least...Joe Bonamassa on the six string. This guy is a blues legend already. And this is his first stint into hard rock music.

There very much a guitar rock band from the 70s.
So friggin AWESOME!!

Oh, and I'll drop in here CHICKENFOOT, because they RULE!!
Sammy Hagar on the vocals, Micheal Anthony on the Bass, Joe Satriani on Gutiar and Chad Smith on the Drums. SWEET!!!

Lately I started hearing this song at the gym, so checked them out... it's not like anything I've ever heard! I made a Pandora channel for them on my ipad.

I just find it really catchy, it got into my head.....

Vicky, I think it sounds like early Nine Inch Nails without the aggression. It's difinitely catchy but in a very sublime way. Not something you focus in on, but rather a soundtrack playing along in the backround. Interesting.

Vicky,
If you like AWOLnation, try their newer release called "kill your heroes". It's more upbeat, and not about murder as the title may suggest.

No I don't hate it, a lot of it is really good. Way better some of the no talent studio stuff out there, that really anyone could do. Like anyone remember Milli Vanilli?

I never really knew the words to Sail, but now have listened to them. I don't really know what it's about do you? Martians are invading his house and abducting him or what? lol... is it all in his head? He's just paranoid? His ADD and drugs getting to him? It's all very interesting and disturbing, lol.. then there is this video that is equally as disturbing but the acting in it in superb! That redhead is derisive, I love it! Like Nurse Ratchet times 10, lol... Check the wicked expressions on her face, she should get an academy award. Who are they? Why do they have the rights to use this song?

I'd have to write down 2 names ... Kiss and Rihanna. How wide can someone's taste in music be? lol

Currently listening to Kiss' latest album, 'Monster', a lot! It's no secret Bobbi is pretty excited about that album, from the beginning, and I thought "Why not give it a try?" I mean, the girl has great taste when it comes to music. So, for a month now I'm listening to heavy rock and friends are looking at me with raised eyebrows thinking "at least it's something different than the usual hiphop stuff". Image

But in the end I'll always get back to urban. Rihanna, loved the girl from the beginning and whenever she releases something new, which she does pretty often, first thing I do is put that thing on repeat! Very much looking forward to 'Unapologetic' that's due to be released later this month. Shine bright like a diamond.

Highlight for December, Bruno Mars' new album. Anyone heard his new single 'Locked Out Of Heaven'? It has The Police written all over it! Plus, let me not forget this one ... Staygold with 'Wallpaper'; Swedish production, says enough. :icon_wink:

SLASH!! It's friggin' GREAT!! Myles Kennedy is on the lead vocals. He's the singer of Alter Bridge. The album is Apocalyptic Love. Just about every song is stellar. The stand outs are probably You'e A Lie and Shots Fired, but the entire CD is smokin. I can't get the songs out of my head. Seriously, not just one song, but the entire album. It's become the warm up music for my hockey team. :-) If you like Guns N Roses you'll like this. Some of these songs sound like they should have been on the early GNR stuff.

Oh, and if you don't know who Slash is, he was GUNS N ROSES' lead guitarist from the 90s. He's not with that current abomination that's running around calling themselves GNR.

And, on a side note, Slash in concert is amazing too. Myles tears up the old GUNS songs.

Bretzky when I played hockey (midget AAA) we played Big League. My best friend and I would turn that up loud and I'd sing "this girls gonna play in the big league, this girls gonna turns some heads. That songs on my iPod, I never made the big leagues or turned many heads, but I still turn it loud when I play hockey

Carl, I'm with you brotha, I love the heavy stuff too. Give me some Sepultura, Slayer, Anthrax, Celtic Frost, Exodus, Testament, Revoker, Pantera, Lamb of God, so on and so forth. But it's always nice to step away from the anger and aggression and just soak in some solid blues rock/metal. Helps keep musical prespective. At least for me it does.
