Watching Sara Jay's VLAD-TV interview about how her first marriage was unable to keep up with her up-tempo career and porn lifestyle, and reading the thread on Vicky's subforum on some models' reaction to Twitter fans playing along with their "playing the slut" moods, got me to thinking about a question that has been on my mind for the longest.

I know that being an adult sexual performer/adult actress/erotic entertainer/model often requires you to promote and put out an aura of eternal horniness and ever-lastingg sluttitude, as if you spend every waking moment of your day either playing with yourself or trolling for your next supply of cock or pussy. The better and more enduring performers take to it like ducks in a fresh pond and openly celebrate it; but others aren't so willing to, because they see this as either a neccessary evil to endure to get the paycheck, or even a chore to be dispatched with so that they can get to the important stuff like parties or drycleaning or saving up for their education or that mainstream career.

My question to the girls (and hopefully all of them can provide some feedback here or in their own venues), is this: How do you concieve your role as a professional sexual entertainer? IIs is possible to overdo the implied hypersexual image so that other aspects of your personality don't show out as much as you would like? I know that there are women and men in porn who treat it as merely another job, but shouldn't the fundamental qualification be love of sex, and the willingness to share that love with the viewers and fans and followers?? And...how do you balance between giving legitimate respect for guys and girls who react in the proper way to your sexually assertive images and maintaining that seperation that prevents some from crossing the line into going into your private space?

I'm just interested in getting opinions from the girls on this.
"One need never be unsanitary while one is being dirty because sanitary is a state of fact and dirty is a state of mind." -- Nina Hartley
"A slut is best defined as anyone -- man or woman -- who lives and breathes by the basic philosophy that sex is nice and pleasure is good for you." -- Dossie Easton and Janet Hardy, The Ethical Slut
"Sex is part of nature. I choose to go along with nature." -- Marilyn Monroe
