Family ReUnion

Thanks you guys, lol... I went to my Mom's room this morning to say goodbye, and she was sitting at the desk folding a box of kleenex. She had emptied the entire box and was carefully folding each kleenex up into a perfect square one on top of the other.... nuts.... ok I think I'm done for another 6 years, lol... you know what is so strange? Not a single person mentioned porn or what we do for a living the entire time. It's like it's completely swept under the carpet. Everyone knows but no one says a word. I debated on bringing it up a few times to clear the air. I like to be honest and open, but figured it just wasn't worth it. I see them so rarely I just wanted everyone to have a nice time and enjoy themselves. Why ruin it.

Vicky, I think, if they have welcomed you like a matter of course, they have accepted it. It is your life & your decision, and you don't have to vindicate for nothing. So, so what? Your people have their own life & biz & problems. I believe they have no clue about your XXX life. Apart from that, they have accepted you, because you are still a grounded, good human being, with a good attitude for life. Your Dad wouldn't have asked you to take care of your Mom, if not. What a great compliment to your personality!
This is what families do. They stick together no matter what happens around them.
That is what counts in the end...
It's good to know you had a great time with them.

What he said! If your family didn't bring it up, your best choice was to enjoy your visit and follow their lead. I know you worry about your mom's smoking, and that is enough to worry about. I know your mom isn't in the best of condition, but Mom and Dad both smoked most of their lives and both lived to be 84, and neither died from smoking issues.

Did I ever tell you? After Mom was gone, I was going thru things and found a box of old cards - Christmas, birthday, anniversary, etc. It was very altering to read their personal thoughts. One thing that really struck me was where Dad would emphasize certain parts. Where it might say, "You were always the girl of my dreams," Dad would underline "always." I used to do the same thing in cards for my ex-GF. I used to think I was the only one that thought of that, lol. It was cool to see that Dad did the same for Mom. (And I imagine now that many others do, too.) I got to see them, not as parents, but as two people in love, just like millions of others throughout history. It was pretty cool. And you, too, should try to see the "two people in love" side of your folks. Look back to your childhood. Remember the good times now. And thank your mom and dad for caring enough to love each other, and to have you - which they did out of love.

Vicky, about the porn, as long as the topic wasn't causing any tension, it's all good. The alarm bells should only go off when you're having a convo about what's for dinner, clothes, sports or whatever, and you sense the only topic they'd really want to talk about, but afraid to bring it up, is the 4-letter word p.o.r.n. You and your family got to spend a few really cool days together and that's all that matters. Enjoy dinner tonite, and have a safe trip home.

Mike, I can relate to what you're saying in the first paragraph. I also have a family member whom I'm easily annoyed by; an uncle. We only see each other during Christmas, which makes it easier to accept his presence. I sure as hell don't wanna ruin the "most wonderful time of the year" for my parents, sister, nieces, nephews, aunts and other uncles. But yeah, you're totally right, pretty sure everyone has someone like that in their families.

We got lost in boston again, lol... every single time we come here, we get lost! Never fails. It's insane here, there is a baseball on, the park is very close to where we are staying so the traffic is worse than LA traffic! I'm not kidding. It's crazy expensive here, this is the smallest hotel room I have ever seen, it reminds me of Europe! It's $43 to park at the hotel overnight. We have to get up at 4:15 am to go return the rental car, and be at the airport by 5:30, so I really have to get to sleep, but hold on, let me find a few pics from dinner......

ok here ya go! Kelly is a really supernice girl, we had a nice long chat over dinner... her hubby Shawn is supernice too. They complained about it getting cold here and having 6 drab months ahead of them, so I told them to come to Florida and lay by our pool any time they want to. We traded industry insider tips and stuff... gave her my legal contact for taking down piracy.... we'll definitely shoot one day when we have more time together! hmmm they are posting in backwards order, but I'm too tired to fix it now... Our day starts around 4 am and then after we land in tampa at noon, we have scheduled houses to go see all afternoon, then go pick up the dogs at the kennel after that, so we are gonna be dead! Good night you guys! Kisses....

I'm at Boston Logan airport and the internet is free! And our sites are not blocked! How cool is that! lol... At tampa airport all I get is this:

Damn it's early! I guess Boston won the game last night cause oh boy they were partying in our hotel last night! All up and down the hall screaming and yelling until about 3:30 am.
