I know we all see them all the time. You can't open anything without ads popping up. Any YouTube video starts with a freaking ad. Anytime you click on a news story, you have to suffer through an ad or 12. They also talk about targeted advertising. They somehow get into your computer, maybe by looking at your cookies, and taylor the ads thay deliver based on where you've been surfing.

I didn't realise just how pervasive it was until now. I'm driving my son to Tucson next week and staying for 3 days or so. He mentioned that the Williams Embassy Suites had a government rate of $89. I know that Embassy Suites is a pretty fantastic chain, and I knew that $89 was a pretty good rate. So I called up the hotel on Expedia and a couple other travel sites to see what their rates were ($139.) Well, my son went ahead and made a reservation and all of that is set up.

But ever since then, 3 days ago, every damn news/travel/blog or whatever site I visit, there's an ad for the Williams Embassy Suites right in the middle. That obviously could have only come from one source. Right inside my own damn computer.
I can resist everything except temptation.
