Saw Dr. Strange the other night. LOVED IT.... of course, I love most Marvel movies, but like you said, this is one of the better ones!

greggl wrote:I just got back from seeing Doctor Strange. I really enjoyed it. One of the best Marvel movies so far. Benedict Cumberbatch was excellent (as usual). Definitely worth seeing.

Dr. Strange was one of my favorite comics as a kid. I saw the movie last night and really enjoyed it. I thought they did a great job of getting the feeling across. Also really enjoyed the first teaser in the credits. The second one was... somewhat expected.

Has anyone seen Fantastic Beasts yet? I really enjoyed all the Harry Potter movies but I havent been into going to see this one yet. I am looking forward to Rogue One. I watched the original Star Wars again last night in anticipation.

Saw Rogue One earlier this week and really enjoyed it. Judging by the two movies Disney have put out since buying the franchise, Star Wars is in good hands.

Also, at movie night last week (or a couple/few weeks ago, I lose track), I watched Kubo and the Two Strings with friends and we all enjoyed it highly. If anyone is thinking about getting it on DVD/BluRay or just watching it somewhere, it is well woirth your time.

I just saw Rogue One today. It was good, but I enjoyed The Force Awakens more. If you are a Star Wars fan it is definitely worth seeing. If not I doubt it will make you one.

No idea where I left off as far as what I've seen.....

Just got back from watching Hidden Figures. 2 hours 7 minutes long but didn't feel draggy at all. Good movie all in all. Sad at times, happy at times. Based on a true story.

I also recently saw Passengers. Interesting concept. Kinda meh with the ending. Thought there would be more to the ending, but fin movie to watch at the theater.

Sing was a really cute kids movie. Catchy (you may find yourself singing along to some of the songs!)

Rogue One - went opening night. Really enjoyed it.

Why Him was funny as fuck! One of those seen it a million times kind of movies, but still fun to watch.

Moana was another great kids movie. LOVED the music

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them ... I believe there will be more. Interesting how they will tie it into the series....

Arrival was a little slow at times, also a bit predictable, but enjoyed it.

I think maybe I'm caught up :)

Movie night at a buddy's house. We watched The Secret Life of Pets. I liked it. I had no particular desire to see it in the theaters, and no idea what to expect, but it was a fun movie.

It wasn't anything like what I'd expected from the year plus of previews in the theater, but definitely a cute movie!!

:rotffl: If you're not an Elvis fan, you probably haven't missed much. Even he wasn't crazy about his movies of this period. I liked some of the music, but, yeah, kind of silly, lol. Find the album on Youtube and listen to the songs. If you like them. go see the movie (on line, I guess. or maybe a PPV channel.)

Plus, it reminded me what an awesome song Lovely Day by Bill Withers is!

I'm definitely familiar with his songs. Loved them growing up. Still know them all and even play them for my kiddos :)

Rings: Was surprised how much I enjoyed this. I figured it would be another one of those ... oh yay ... same movie done again and again, never as good as the original. They took the original story and put more into it, giving you more background as to who she is. Interesting way to redo it.

A Dogs Purpose: Went into it knowing I'd be crying my face off, so washed off my makeup before going. Good move on my part. Felt like every 20 minutes I was crying ... as was nearly the entire theater. Great movie if you don't mind crying!

Split: Actually ties into another movie as you'll learn in the last minute of footage. Considered one of the BEST comic movies of all time ... so if you've seen Unbreakable, then you'll comprehend the ending, if you've not, then, well ... I highly suggest you invest the 2 hours to watch it, even if it means doing so after this movie!

xXx Return of Xander Cage: Being a HUGE Vin Diesel fan, there wasn't a chance in Hell I was missing this in the theaters. If you saw the original, you know what to expect. Stupid, yet funny one liners all throughout. Cheesy action film ... but hey, It's Vin Diesel ... I'd watch him sleep and be perfectly entertained ...so take from that what you will!

Monster Trucks: Not sure if I commented on that on yet or not. Cute for what it was.

Bye Bye Man: Better than I expected it to be. I never expect much from these types of movies. Train Track ... for those who have seen it ... wow ... didn't see that coming!

It was from last year, but my buddy and I just watched Pete's Dragon. I enjoyed it. It seemed like a very modern version of the old fashioned Disney movies. Nothing ground-breaking or surprising, and we called the script pretty much the whole way through, but still fun.

Movie night again this past Wedensday. We watched Jack Reacher 2. We were not overly impressed by it and our strongest emotion was disappointment that there was no blooper reel on the blu-ray. First, I suggested the Tom Cruise might be too insecure to allow a blooper reel. Then I thought that maybe his whole life was one big blooper mreel. Then I posited that "his life was a blooper reel" would be as good an epitaph as anyone could ask for. "Some people's lives should be turned into movies. I think mine would make a good gag reel."

Saw Logan tonight. It was excellent. Definitely one of the top 3 X-men movies if not the best. Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart gave outstanding performances. I highly recommend it.

Some friends wanted to see Beauty and the Beast and I have to say it was very good. All of the performances were top notch. One of my friends who is a big fan of the original animated version and of the Broadway Show said he thought this was the best version of them all.
