I hear ya. There are a few of these around the world. Isn't there one in Vegas? I've also read about at least one somewhere in Europe. Something like, what, half a mile high?

I would want to go on one. But I'm about 99% sure I wouldn't. I used up all my bravado on that zip line we rode. I tried to put on a brave face, but my insides were mush, lol. When I got to the landing platform, I mean, my foot was stuck out reaching for that platform,

High Roller is the tallest Ferris wheel in the world with the height of 550ft (167.6m) and 520ft in diameter. High Roller was opened to the public in 2014 and is situated on the Las Vegas Strip, Nevada US. The wheel rotates on spherical roller bearing weighing 8800kg. (Walt: a Kg is 2.2 lbs. So multiply 8800 X 2.2 to get total pounds.. Oh, and 520 feet is the length of 1-2/3 football fiends. 100 yds plus 66 more, lol.) The passenger cabins are mounted on the wheels and are individually rotated. Each cabin weighs 20000kgs with a diameter of 6.7m. Initially, the ride was to cost $20 but the ticketing prices have increased to $30 as at 2013. In 2014, a 30 minutes ride cost $24.95 during the day and $34.95 during the night. An express pass ticket cost $54.95 and allows the rider to skip the line and ride at any time.

However, number 1, in Dubai, is 'slated to open in 2020', so I sense a little marketing on the part of the website. I imagine a list such as this doesn't change quickly, anyway. The Ferris wheel with the electrical problems is #8. The list of 11 is:
