Took Peter's advice and watched Harrow. I enjoyed it. good cast This is the second series in which Ioan Gruffudd plays a pathologist. The first is called Forever which I really enjoyed though it only lasted one season. In that one he is a pathologist in New York who has become an expert on death because he is trying to find out why he is immortal and cannot die. I recommend it.

You are right Greggl - Forever is really good - especially when the other "immortal" guy (his nemesis) surfaced! I thought there were two series - but couldn't swear to that!
Both are good watches.

So the big TV series news here is new series of Dr Who started yesterday with first ever female Dr Who - Jodie Whittaker. Episode 1 left me unsure - is it the actress (sorry but female actors ARE actresses) , the writing (dialogue trying a bit too hard to be Sheffield) or just the idea of what the BBC's public want? I just don't know. Also I really thought Peter Capaldi was excellent as last Dr (ties with Tom Baker as best ever Dr Who for me) so I may be a little prejudiced!
At times the madcap Dr trying to get over the regeneration was almost manic, and over the top. Too many companions - Bradley Walsh will do a good job, but not sure we need Ryan (idiot side-kick - always has one) and Naz (trainee cop - really??). Storyline a bit weak too - the alien on his hunt was so cliched, I had to groan.
We will see

By the way - Jodie Whittaker was excellent in the series "Assets" about the CIA and a mole set in 70s - 80s. Well worth a watch - I can't comment on her accent (as American), but I'm sure you guys will be able to tell me if its rubbish!

Unfortunately Harrow is on Hulu... and since I have Amazon and Netflix not sure it's worth buying more streaming stuff...

Just wrapped up Better Call Saul.. season 4 on AMC (in Europe it's on Netflix).
Pre-cursor to Breaking Bad. Terrific show. I find it a tad slow in pacing but the acting is terrific. No boobs at all... so a B+ from me...

The main draw for Hulu is that it has a huge amount of the current major network shows. It has pretty much everything currently airing on ABC, NBC and Fox plus select shows from other networks and a lot of original stuff. Of the major networks only CBS doesnt let them air their shows since they have their own pay service. When I got Hulu I cancelled my cable. The only thing I regret about cancelling cable is losing BBC America. Netflix used to air Doctor Who almost immediately after the season ended but now Amazon has the exclusive and they dont add the new episodes to prime for almost a year. They just added last years chrismas special this month.

As you can see this one is on Youtube!
Explanation first! The Grimleys may not be to everyone's taste , and it may not work so well across the Pond. It is a brilliant take on growing up in the 1970s with a great soundtrack of 70s music. Aside from that Gordon is a great example of a spotty teenage boy (albeit rather an intellectual one) with a crush on his young English teacher (yes Amanda Holden was really hot back in the day). Doug Digby is spot on as the sadistic PE teacher - I had one more or less the same.
If you just want a bit of musical fun start watching at about 5.30 mins to hear how one of the classic Christmas pop songs could have turned out - it is indeed Noddy Holder from Slade playing the music teacher!

Binged Season 3 of Daredevil. Thought it was fantastic. If you liked season 1 or 2 you will really enjoy season 3.

Just wrapped up a binge of ''BodyGuard'' on Netflix.. a British crime drama starring a dude from Game of Thrones...

Some superb acting and good action sequences... I'd have to say I loved it even if there were parts that were completely not believable...
A solid B+... it would have been a B++ or even an A- but there were zero tits...

Disjointed with Kathy Bates is hilarious even if not stoned. A 30 minute comedy Netflix original.

Finished watching The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina on Netflix. I thought it was pretty good. Yes its Sabrina the teenage witch from the Archie Comics, but it is based on the comics from their horror line. The show was originally going to be a companion show to Riverdale on the CW but the producers wanted to go darker than they could there so it came to Netflix. I say check it out

I watched "haunted" on Netflix. While I'm not one to actually believe in paranormal. My imagination is a fan. I love scaring myself. I mean, it"s obvious I like a little fear. Haha.... but it's an informal chat format. With real people telling their paranormal experiences to friends and family. It includes reenacting which I loath. I just ignore it and listen to the story.

The second episode was intense for me. It's a true story. About a family who grew up in a house with a serial killer father. It's absolutely blood chilling and terrifying. A complete mind fuck for me. The rest of the episodes are good. But I don't believe in ghosts. So, it doesn't give the same level for terror for me. But the alien abduction episode was scary. It was my fear as a child. Being taken away by aliens. I've read a lot about abductions over the years. I've met a few people who've claimed to be abducted. So, that was interesting.

Program on The History Channel, most all day Friday, called "Ancient Aliens." It's about the possibility of aliens visiting Earth back in the days of ancient Egypt and other times in Earths past. There is an awful lot that can't be explained by conventional means. Some of the programs are pretty intriguing.

I also caught a short British show on Amazon Masterpiece theatre... called the Escape Artist with Dr Who.. David Tennant. If you are into crime/justice/law drama's it's 6 episodes, well acted and quite interesting... not how I expected when I flipped it on one night. No titties unfortunately but a solid 8/10
