I find Lilyhammer amusing. There are 2 seasons and going on a third. It's about a Mobster that goes into witness protection. He chooses Lilyhammer because he said it looked beautiful on tv after viewing the winter olympics. He gets back into bad mafia type habits. It is in english, with norwegian subtitled in english. Comedy.

In my new laid up condition I decided this morning to start watching a new series, and judging by my initial reaction over the first few episodes "Weeds" is my new addiction. I'm loving the characters and the storylines. I think it's gunna be fun to watch :)

I watched the first episode of Firefly last night, I got a kick out of it. I love scifi no matter how cheesy or corny, lol.. Can't wait to watch the rest, I'm sorry it's sooo short!

Once you finish firefly, check out Serenity. It's the movie they wrapped it all up with when Firefly ended.

Dr Who and Torchwood are also good ones.

Speaking of scifi did you know there's more than 1 movie of Starship Troopers ? They're on netflix btw. i have the DVDs found em in a thrift store in the us back when i was there a couple years ago.

the 1st one was pretty kick ass, cheesy but fun. Cool scenes is when Rico rides the giant fire ant and blows it up with a grenade, pretty ballsy move. Another is the shower scene with Dena Meyers, it's totally uncensored. The tent scene with her is good too but you don't see much.

anyway the movie kicks serious bug ass and one of my fav scifi movies other than Star Wars and Star Trek. etc

the 2nd is called Starship Troopers: Hero of the Federation , they find this abandoned tower and hide in it for the entire movie. The only survivor is Richard Burgi and he's accused of treason. The only thing i can say without spoiling is there's an enemy within but not what you think.

imho it sucks and doesn't even follow canon, the redhead female Captain from the 1st movie that gets squished by the ship door is in this one as a soldier. it doesn't even make sense. Plus its totally boring, Kelly Carlson is in it, she's hot.

Then there's the 3rd one called Starship Troopers: Marauders.

That one is worth watching. it's actually a pretty good premise. i can't say much without giving away spoilers but they crash on this planet and it's infested from deep within and there's huge bugs.

Casper Van Dien is in it and so is Jolene Blalock from Star Trek Enterprise.

Starship Troopers 4: Invasion

it's a cgi movie produced by Casper Van Dien in 2012. i haven't watched it but judging by the shower scene, i'm sure its very ok or even better.

it's a theme in those movies lol

Here's some footage from the game they made back in 2005 lol

and here's how Rico (Casper Van Dien) took down that Fire Ant i mentioned above aka Tanker.

Now that's how you take care of a bug problem.

Tell me that wasn't a thing of beauty.

I'm so glad the new season (3?) of Hell on Wheels is out! Now that is a series worth watching! Who knew a western could be so good? Really well done, spectacular scenery, well written, exciting and thought provoking! I cried when Cullen's love interest was murdered last season. I mean I was upset and yelling in the house...

Woo Hoo! Season 3 just came out for ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK! I watch tv every night starting at 11 when my work day is done, so i can blow through the season in less than a week, lol... Crazy eyes anyone? That girl is the best most believable actress I have ever seen! She makes the show in my opinion! All of them are so great. It's so real, so human, it touches every part of you. You can always identify with one or the other of them at some point in your life.

I just started watching Orange/Black again to Vicky !! I'm fairly certain that the cast of this show is the best ensemble put together for a series in a very long time. S3E3 is up tonight...yippee!!

I tend to watch sitcoms on Netflix (love my ChromeCast). Things like Better off Ted and The IT Crowd and, of course, Archer.

Sense8, a new original Netflix production written and created by Andy and Lana Wachowski (The Matrix) and J. Michael Straczynski (Babylon5).

It is a science fiction drama that revolves around 8 strangers from different parts of the world who suddenly become mentally and emotionally linked. The show explores subjects such as politics, identity, sexuality, gender and religion.

On Rotten Tomatoes http://www.rottentomatoes.com/tv/sense8/s01/ (one of the best film review aggregator), critics' reception has been favorable, on average, while the audience loved it.

Personally when I watched it I didn't like it very much, but after some days since I watched the last episode I started to think that is a quite fascinating series for various reasons, for example:

1) the plot is located in 8 different cities of the world, like Seoul, Nairobi, London, etc. Following it through all these locations is pretty interesting.

2) every character has some significant personal problem (for example, one is a Lesbian Trans that is not accepted by her parents, while another is a Kenyan young man that struggles to pay for HIV medicines for her mother) and it's really interesting how all the 8 protagonists cope with them using their mental and emotional connection.

I don't want to spoil too much, but I believe you should watch it because it's unic.

I like Dexter very much, but somewhere in the middle I was thinking, what the hell :-devil: does it disclose from my shady side?
Devilish things that I hid & surpressed into my subconscious mind got spilled out again...
...& then?... Uh Oh... one moment! RESET! Aaah yeah! Got back control... "peace:
Enjoyed the rest of Dexter & can't wait to see the new episodes. :D

A similar feeling I had when I watched all episodes of Breaking Bad in a row at one long weekend.
I felt like being at home in Albuquerque, afterwards :lmfao:
I liked Hank Schrader most, a real badass :D

In the moment I'm more into the documentaries on Netflix.

BTW... in Germany the Netflix portfolio is pretty poor due to copyright reasons.
They add 2-3 movies a week, only.

:hatsoff:

That sounds interesting Fenixio! I'll have to look for that one!

So my top 3 so far are Dexter, Breaking Bad and Orange is New Black, House of Cards, (season 2 wasn't as spellbinding as season 1 though) I know that's 4, but it's too hard to choose!

I found House of cards less spellbinding too, in season 2.

About Breaking Bad, Vicky, I'm 100% that you adored this scene as much as I did:
