Fucking Daylight Savings Time again!

"Slept" right thru Charlee's show. I got home from Tucson in time, but all my clocks are still on Winter time. So, I'm looking at my clock on the TV stand. 9:50. 9:53. 9:56. Better get into the cam room. Wait! Awwww, CRAP! Show's OVER!. (Brain/OldGuy's memory finally kicks in.) DAMN! Forgot to reset my fucking CLOCKS! I HATE this fucking time change!

There is a movement afoot to get the government to eliminate the damn time change. Actually, people have been talking about this for years. But It seems to be gaining momentum. Problem is, they want to stay on DST all the time. Now, please explain to me, WHAT THE HELL is wrong with the Earths NORMAL time? Huh? Dump the damn time change and leave it alone. Time is based on the earths orbit around the sun. Straight overhead is noon. NOT 11 A.M. Leave it the fuck alone!

Yeah, I know there are others who would agree with full time DST, but I don't like it. Leave our fucking clocks alone!

But, of course, I don't really have an opinion on the subject.

my internal clock is off too, been oversleeping, be glad when my internal clock readjusts just so we do the same crap all over again in the fall lol. Wished we'd leave it alone after we switch in the fall.

I don't have a personal problem with the time change. Never have. I just wake up or go to bed. My problem is changing the dang clocks to keep up with whatever setting is right so that you don't show up an hour early or late for anything.

I agree, just choose one and stick to it. Some places change, some dont, then even some places that change do it at different times. I think right now there is only 4 hours difference between Florida and london, UK for a couple of weeks. So much Damn confusion for nothing.

I was wondering why your show starts an hour earlier than usual for the next 2 weeks, totally forgot that daylight savings time in Europe starts on the last sunday in March.

I think it used to change then here. But then they changed that. The one thing they can't figure out is HOW TO LEAVE IT THE FUCK ALONE!!!!

I've never been a fan. And I understand dairy farmers absolutely hate it - cows absolutely refuse to shift their milk production cycles.

Would it not be easier to just let business change their work hours if they wanted to, from 9 -5 in winter to 8 - 4 in summer. Just a thought.

Leave it on DST so it would give us all an hour of extra daylight all the time. It's the most logical thing to do. Why are only the people in Arizona smart enough to know this? Drive me freaking nuts, when the VNA Live girls tell me to change their shows I'm never quite sure, sometimes it's 3 hours difference sometimes it's 2 hours....

I thought that the Yanks who put their clocks forward an hour were just trying to catch up with us Brits!

Or, simply, the US could simply return DST to where is should be: first Sunday in April to last Sunday in October. Who's bright idea was it to extend it from March to mid-November, anyways?

You can put the blame on the man in the white house now. He said this would save energy 'somehow', and "be good for everyone". Personally and at least in my state, it makes no damn difference. Pick a time and stick with it, less confusion, less lost time, less hassle. At least now in my state we only have ONE time zone, when I moved here <50 years ago, we had 4 time zones within a single state. One is a hell of a lot easier, but summer / winter changing makes no sense to me, certainly doesn't save us any summer time, certainly doesn't make the sun come up earlier, or go down later. Just adds confusion.

And you're right about DST not benefitting Alaska. Not much benefit to people living in the south. In fact, looking at a world map, I'd estimate that at least 70% of humanity lives in zones where DST is totally irrelevant.

India only has a single time across the country - although it covers 3 time zones over the international time zone map. Once when I had to travel on business to the extreme east of the country, I learnt the locals just operate on something they "tea plantation time". It is an hour ahead of the official time, its a totally informal setup with no political involvement, its effective for the area, everyone understands it and life just hums along without any need for pronouncements on high about changing the time on your clocks.

When I initially checked for Vicky's camshow, last week I saw it would be on 7am Monday, my time in Melbourne, Australia and realised daylight savings had started in the US. Although, Vicky did change her time for the show this time so it was still 8am for me. Being retired, with time on my hands, and I do get up early, I don't mind what time, I see the camshow. In fact when daylight savings ends in April, where I live, I will be seeing Vicky's show at 6am. Glad I live on the eastern side of Australia, though, because due to time difference between east and west, in Western Australia, I would be seeing the show at 4am, a bit too early for me. Anyway, I just like to say, that I have never liked daylight savings time, as when, there are the really hot days in Summer, with the extra hour of heat at night, I find it hard to get to sleep.
