Not sure what you're complain about rokker - I watch on average 3 or 4 Premier League games a week and look how I'm doing!

A very decent weekend set of results for Spurs this weekend. Finally picking up that first Wembley league win - albeit a bit of a huff and puff against a Bournemouth brick wall who were so defensive that You'd be forgiven for thinking Jose Mourinho was in charge ;) But not only that, but Liverpool and United played out a 0-0 draw thanks to Jose and his now traditional double decker bus defensive lineup meaning 2 points dropped for both sides. Then we have Watford pulling out a dramatic late win against Arsenal, once again putting the heat on Wenger.

And last but definitely not least, Chelsea suffer the ignominy of being the first team to fall victim to Crystal Palace after going 7 games without a win. Peter mentioned some odds on the first sacking of the season previously, I still think Conte is on thin ice.

But as I type this, it's looking increasingly like Ronald Koeman will be anxiously awaiting a chat with the Everton board as they escape with a last minute draw v Brighton.

The story of the weekend so far though has to be City and their 7-2 demolition of Stoke! The attacking form they are in is starting to get frightening quite frankly and shows no signs of slowing down. To think they scored 7 whilst Aguero was not on the pitch along with 6 different goal scorers shows the firepower and attacking licence given to them by Guardiola. Kevin De Bruyne deserves special mention too, he's got to be in the running for player of the year already.

The problem now of course is how do we get those pricey attacking City players into our Fantasy Football teams...

Champions League again this week and Tottenham travelling to Real Madrid is of course the highlight for me!

So here's the thing - who will be next PL manager to go? I agree with The Boy that Big Ron is in trouble (and I can't see Everton beating Lyon in the week). Two other slightly longer bets are Klippity-Klopp and Our Mauricio.
Lets be honest the "Big Match of the Season" at Anfield was cr*p -don't think you can blame Jose, its the way he plays - don't lose and you just might win. Without Lallana & Mane Liverhampton are toothless 0- now if Coutinho were to go to Barca, watch them plummet!
Saints were not brilliant yesterday against a not very good Newcastle - Forster can take blame for second goal and the movement forward is glacial. Tadic must be blackmailing someone to keep getting picked, and WTF is Pellegrino doing substituting Romeu when he was one of the players actually playing. However, we have got another bargain gem with Lemina - he is really awesome!
Man City have by far the best squad and WILL win the PL - I feel smug having De Bruyne in my Fantasy team - second best player in PL -only Sanchez is better!
At any other club Arsene would be on thin ice - his team selection lost the Watford game - if Sanchez is only 70% ready to play he should start. Ozil has totally lost his way.Silva is a really good manager - wish he was with us on the South Coast!
Palace caught Chelski off balance at the weekend, but will be in the relegation mix. I won't miss trips to probably the worst ground in PL - Selhurst Park. (but I will miss the Crystals!!).
Into Europe - I thought Dortmund got caught out by their playing style and the red card that was harsh. Napoli look really good - always worth watching!
Oh and sorry guys - Spurs will be embarrassed in Madrid!

To be honest rokker, I still don't know how players get points awarded. Lemon was outstanding on Saturday and scores little. Anyway my lot all get injured - I had Heaton as one of my goalkeepers, transferred him out when he got injured, and Foster didn't start for WBA last night - last minute injury.

The fantasy league for me this year has been a lot of fun so far. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm actually half-azzed interested in play from week to week. I've been tweaking my team to break free from Rokkerr but it looks like I tweaked it in the wrong direction !!! Next week I'm looking for a big points week. If I fall behind any further I'm gutting my team and recruiting a bunch of scrubs who play for the MLS !!! hahaha

Despite a reasonable week I still do not have a clue how this works - and I'm behind you rokker.
Here's the thing I was at the Saints WBA game at the weekend - Bertrand was average - one freekcik that hit the wall and then the post, but not much else - Lemina was awesome - again - ran the midfield both attacking and on the three occasions WNA attacked, getting the ball back. So why do I get 6 points for Bertrand and only 3 for Lemina - crazy, crazy!!

Hey rokker, you still want to tell me that Spurs don't have a problem playing at Wembley??
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Also great week for Saints fans - fantastic goal by Boufal, Koemans sacked by Everton and Claude Puel appointed manager by Leicester - what's not to like??!!

Calgary Mike used some slick transfers to WIN the week and slide back over Peter...... :yeahbaby:

I have to say I was a bit bored of the football this last weekend, Man United beating Spurs was a tad dull game... without Kane
Manchester City looked like they could have scored 10...
Eddie Howe must be sweating bullets with almost every manager in the lower half the table sacked by now

This Fantasy Football is pants - all my subs are injured (except keeper who was injured last week and was a replacement for Heaton anyway!)

Man Utd were lucky against Spurs - awful game - but it did prove how much Spurs will struggle without Kane!
Man City by far the best team in PL.
Short list for manager sackings - West Ham, Liverpool & Saints!

I think everyone knows what I'm about to say :D Tottenham Hotspur 3 Real Madrid 1. At Wembley. In front of 83,000 people! This isn't what Spurs are supposed to do!! Yep, I'll admit that Madrid are not in the greatest of shape in recent weeks including the league defeat a few days prior. But I don't think anything can be taken away from how... ordinary Spurs made them look.

Even losing Toby Alderweireld to injury and Lloris picking up a strain that will subsequently keep him out for 2 weeks, we still dominated the game. Kane being back was unquestionably a huge part of that I'll admit. But quite frankly it's getting to the stage where it's akin to saying Barcelona might struggle a bit without Messi or, as we're seeing now, Madrid might struggle if Ronaldo goes off the boil.

Kane's performance though was magnificent indeed. Alli may have taken the plaudits with two goals, but the movement of Kane was tantamount to criminal the way he bullied and tormented the Madrid defence. Take nothing away from Eriksen either who also had a below par game v United and yet was brilliant on Wednesday night.

Qualified already from a group containing Real Madrid and Dortmund along with playing at Wembley, it certainly puts a few pundits in their place that's for sure. We need to follow this result up with a solid win over Crystal Palace now and hopefully Southgate gives Kane a deserved break during the international games for at least one game.

Peter, how are you handling having Van Dijk back in the starting 11? He seems to be putting in decent performances but still reckon he'll be sulking again come January?

You are right old son about Harry Kane - he IS Spurs at the moment (and England too). Son is vastly under-rated and deserves more game time - bet you go back to struggling at Wembley in PL - waiting for Boxing Day!!
Virgil is a difficult one. He is by far the best centre-back in PL, and a massive asset. His attitude in the summer was totally disrespectful to Saints and the supporters, and won't be forgotten. He does seem to have realised that even if he leaves soon for a bigger club (Liverpool - really?????), he needs to put in shifts to confirm his ability. Most Saints fans are pragmatic, and even if we only get a couple of months - until January window - we get something from it. Also, I can't see Saints selling him for less than £60 mill which could be used very well to bolster our attack. We have Hoedt, Yoshida and Stephens who are all PL standard (and Bednarek who is rubbish, but Polish international), so actually have sufficient cover at centre back . My feeling is that Saints board won't sell him in January (Sorry Sour Kraut Klopp) but will accept a high offer in the Summer. He will get a marginally better welcome back than Lovren (how awful is he?) and Lalana (Liverpool need him fit).

Interesting hearing your thoughts on Virgil, Peter. Do you think he'll deal with the situation better in January if Liverpool do come calling but are rebuffed yet again? Maybe the board will strike a 'gentlemen's agreement' with him to agree a sale in the summer.

Also, what are your thoughts on the new boss? I know how relieved you were to get rid of Puel!

I've made my feelings on international fortnights very clear in the past so I won't go over them again ;) But I'm not too fussed about so many players pulling out of these games. This fortnight is really about the nations in the play-offs and so if England end up using the two friendlies to introduce a bunch of younger players and see how they cope then that's fine by me.

Rokkerr - don't forget you've got a wildcard to use before the end of December if you are mulling over wholesale changes. International breaks are often a good time to use them as you can potentially take advantage of price rises plus have the safety net of knowing any players who get injured on national team duty can be replaced.
