It's Boxing Day (26th Dec) 1995 in Belfast and there is a massive local derby between Glentoran and Linfield (bitter rivals).
Problem is that it has been snowing and they only have one orange ball - watch carefully, it gets tricky as the clip goes on!

For the record, I don't believe it's THAT Neil Armstrong playing in goal for Glentoran

Been a while and the EPL is winding down....

Just thought I'd put my 2 cents in the Manchester vs. Liverpool showdown ... top 4 and relegation zone...

As much as I'd like to see Liverpool win it all.. City just are too strong.
Top 4.... Liverpool, City, Spurs AND... ARSENAL sneak in... much easier schedule for the final few games...

Relegation... I hate to say it but Burnley go down with Fulham and Huddersfield
Southampton for Peter's sake I hope not. I love that program... they haven't been the same since their dutch manager...

Partly right old chap!
Man City will win Premier League (you know it's you Yanks fault that it was rebranded EPL - and there's a Welsh team in it for now).
Liverpool second (although we call it Liverhampton because of the large number of Southampton players they have accumulated - Mane,Van Dyke, Lallana, Lovren and also recently Clyne, Lambert etc)
Man Utd third - despite (not because of) Sloskjaer
Arsenal third - both Chelski & Spurs in a bit of meltdown at present - and Sarri is totally messing Chelski up with the way he is making them play!

Relegation - bottom two are easy - Huddersfield (shame because they have great fans) and Fulham.
Last place between Brighton, Burnley and Cardiff City. I am confident Saints will survive - they are a completely different side since RH (Ralph Hassehuttl) has taken over.
My heart says probably Burnley, but my head says Cardiff City will be the third - by far smallest squad and now that Sol Bamba is out they are literally down to 2 centre backs in the squad - and Bamba was the heart & soul of the team.
Hope I'm wrong - Brighton are slipping and have to play both Saints & Cardiff City at home in the next couple of weeks.

Suppose its time for some weekend predictions - if you insist

Fulham v Man City - Mancs by 2
Brighton v Saints - goalless draw
Burnley v Wolves - Burnley by 1
Palace v Huddersfield - Palace by 3 (and Huddersfield relegated)
Leicester v Bournemouth - Leicester by 2
Man Utd v Watford - Man U by 3
West Ham v Everton - most difficult - Hammers by 1
Cardiff City v Chelski - Chelski by 3 (sadly)
Liverpool v Spurs - Scousers by 2

Remember you read it here first!

Hey guys!

Sorry I haven't been around over the past, crikey, couple of years! I'm glad to see our football thread is still hanging in there :)

I've just endured the torment of Spurs grabbing defeat from the jaws of victory once again. Moussa Sissoko... how on earth did you miss that? It says everything that Van Dijk was more concerned about blocking the pass to Son than he was about letting Sissoko have a complete free shot!

Still, we've got the quite frankly unbelievable new stadium for the first time in midweek. Rokkerr, if you haven't seen much media coverage of it in the States, I highly recommend you check it out. It's honestly jaw dropping what has been built.

I still think City are favourites for the title and it's in their own hands to do so. They have the more difficult remaining games that's for sure but Liverpool for me are getting very nervous and aren't winning games convincingly. Whereas City seem quite relaxed about the situation.

Gert and I kept the VNA Fantasy Football league going... Gert is cruising it this year, although I must admit my attention hasn't been fully on it this year. That's my excuse anyway haha ;)

Anyway, I thought I'd drop in and say hi and I'll hope to be here a bit more often again. I've missed everyone here a lot :iloveyou:

WOW! Glad to see you back TheBoy!!!!!! Yeah.. this Spurs team is a conundrum. I think they could and should be better... a couple of the players didn't show up this year. Injuries to Kane didn't help... they never really caught fire.
They are now in a dog fight for Top 4... with Arsenal a game in hand and Man United actually tied for points. Crazy...

Arsenal's game tomorrow at Newcastle is now suddently important...
This time Tuesday... after ManU's game.. they could be sitting in 5th... Crystal Palace isn't a gimme...

I still hope they make Top 4. Love their manager and it would be terrible for them if he was to go...
How important is their game on the 20th against Man City going to be? Yikes

Even Chelsea has a shot now for top 4...

Yeah, it's absolutely crazy to think that a few weeks ago we were still legitimately in the title race - indeed, if we'd beat United it would have been 100% in our own hands due to having both Liverpool and City still to play. And now I'm genuinely concerned that even 4th place might slip away from us. We're easily in the worst form of all the other teams, United are still on the OGS high, Chelsea keep getting spawny results and Arsenal are hanging around like a bad smell.

It's an easy excuse to make, but not signing any players since 2017 was insanity on the part of Poch and Levy. It's arguable who is to blame, but it's been heavily suggested that Poch has been incredibly stubborn that if he couldn't get first choice targets, he didn't want any other options and thus we ended up with no-one. Add to that selling Dembele, Dier and Wanyama being constantly injured it's left us with a quite frankly laughable first choice central midfield of Winks and Sissoko.

The City game is sandwiched between the Champions League quarter final 1st and 2nd legs too, which I think makes it even tougher - 3 games v City in 10 days.

I'd like to think we've still got enough to at least sustain 4th place but man alive, it's typical Spurs that we've made it so difficult for ourselves!

Huddersfield equalled the most games left for a team to be relegated. It's a shame they have gone, but they have really suffered from second season syndrome. I think that will struggle to get back up any time soon.

One team who I do think will be good to watch next season though are Leicester. Bringing in Brendan Rodgers looks to be a working a charm and with a very exciting bunch of young players already established in the first team, they could really be an excellent team.

Sorry Old Boy, I have to take you up on some of those thought!
Spurs were never really consistent enough to be true title contenders - it was always between Man City and Liverpool (and the latter always destined for 2nd place).
They also have several pretty useless players - Sissoko, Llorente and Loris always has a blunder or two in him). Pocchetino makes the mistake of playing Alli and leaving their best player (this season) Son on the bench!

OGS at Man Utd isn't the reason for their upturn in fortunes - it's merely the getting rid of Mourinho - Pogba and the rest had stopped trying for him!

Leicester are an average squad and will be mid-table again next year. Brendon Rogers was an idiot for moving from Celtic!

I wasn't going to moan, but I just can't help it!!

The standard of referees in PL is woeful - step forward Craig Pawson as the current example!!!!!
I bet he'll still get a game next weekend - despite missing a blatant offside goal, a red card, two penalties and not giving Jorginho a yellow card in 5th minute for blatantly taking out Josh Murphy.
Having watched many, many PL games this season - including games where no team I was interested in were playing - I have concluded that PL refs are nowhere near as good as Dutch, Italian, German or even Spanish top-flight officials.
The ironic thing is all those leagues ALREADY have VAR to help correct errors, whereas in UK where we need it so badly it isn't coming in until next season!

Rant over - and NO I don't feel any better about Pawson!!!!!!!

Liverpool's remaining schedule actually looks fairly easy... unless Peters Southhampton can do something this weekend?

Wolves and Chelsea might be some trouble...
But both probably will fold...

Man City have Spurs coming up which I think will decide the season... my 2 cents (for both clubs) .. a Spurs win they salvage Top 4. Man City win... they probably win the title....
Unless things change of course

My 2 cents..
